Did some clean-up of the transmission yesterday and installed some coolant hoses. Need to clean up the engine bay a bit still. It really needs a good pressure washing. I don't think I want to do that on the lift. I need an outdoor lift for that. Now that would be crazy. I'll be working on that idea soon...
So there's also a triangular vent at the rear of the bell housing. Two filters are needed.

Spoke too soon. Hope Yaz solves his issue.
Didn't do much today. Went to the post office. That was good fun.
Cleared off an item from my list. Drained and filled the front diff. Being unable to find the spec, I just dumped in fluid until it flowed out the fill hole. I'd estimate it took about 1.2 liters.
The drain plug had normal debris and the fluid looked pretty good.

Not much happened today. Just a little cleaning and re-fitting. Closed up the undertray below the front diff. Fixed a missing screw issue at the nose.
Got the A/C compressor clean-ish.
Cleaned up the engine compartment a bit. Hit all the electrical connectors with cleaner and blasted them dry.
Spent a lot of the day trying to get caught up on some yard/ garden things. Weeded around the strawberry plants, watered the stuff that has been planted and spent a couple of hours getting the rototiller going again. If only I had something to keep occupied on time...

Big day - still a long way from the end, though. Did a little tilling with my freshly fixed tiller. Then is started raining. Deciding to move indoors.
Got about a gallon of gas out of the tank. I don't recall being that low when I had to park Speedy. I wonder how much evaporated out of the open lines? I really expected more fuel and was worried I wouldn't have any empty fuel jugs to collect it all. My other car is full. I normally fill up jugs every time I fill up the car. The jugs have been sitting, full, for close to two months now. We've got plenty of things to dump fuel in, but this is a strange situation.
I found some open-cell foam that must have been packaging material for something I received in the last year or two. Maybe I'll figure it out one day. Anyway, I made "filters" for the transmission. Should keep the bigger stuff out, and it will breathe. Should not absorb water, so that's a good thing. Pretty, isn't it?

Pumped 12+ gallons out of mine. No one around wants old fuel and the state has postponed all the haz mat collection events due to covid. Fortunately a 1/4 of it has already evaporated.

I started with the forward drive shaft. That was fairly straightforward (so to speak). Just needed to get the car and the table set right. Then I did the trans support. That was much more of a bother. Constant messing with the lift and the table. Getting the yoke in after tightening the driveshaft bolts made that worse than it should have been.
Up and down, up and down. On my back, up and down, x20. A helper would have been nice. Doing this without the lift and the table, would be a nightmare (certainly alone).
No matter how many are there to help - this task truly is a nightmare. I wanted to strangle the guy that thought putting fuel lines to a cooler was a good idea. I left a fair amount of blood behind getting these damn lines attached.
Got the P/S lines attached. I am not comfortable with how these tighten. Not sure if they have a feature that prevents over torquing. Just never seemed right. We'll have to see. Decided to tackle one last pain in the *** task before quitting for the night. Got all three bolts in the A/C compressor.
Most everything else should be reasonably easy to work through. I'll need to lower the engine a little to route some hoses and wiring. It's just held in at the rear with about 5 or 6 threads on the engine mount nuts. The trans mounts aren't torqued yet, either. I'll be making a list, and checking it twice (at least).

Interesting that you should mention this. I just looked in my "manual". There does not seem to be a section on steering. It should be in Group 4, section 48 (pdf-08). My copy stops at 47 and then the next folder (pdf-09) covers Body. What did I miss?
I think the small hose used 15mm on the two ends and the big hose used 19mm. I backed up (countered) the tightening. It never went "tight", but it does seem fairly secure. I don't know what else I could do.
