It was a good day. After "getting off work", I went to the store. On the way out, I could see the mailbox was full. And, I recognized the AutoAtlanta logo as I went past.

I also got a new ignition switch for our $100 John Deere lawn tractor. Yes! The dandelions and other weeds have been threatening to consume the house. Even worse, where the dog's been leaving her logs, it was more overgrown than a hippy chick's arm pit.

That was a big win, today.

Then I messed with some envelopes that - also - arrived today.

Some of you guys should see something like this before the end of the month, I hope. USPS is not my first choice... we'll have to see.

The clamps were a welcome package. Do you think that will be enough anti-seize?

I'm leaving little blue reminders that the fasteners are not fully torqued. Snug, yes. I expect some shifting and aligning before I tighten-up for good.

Work and family are pretty good consumers. Finding a balance is important. I'm very fortunate in both areas. What's almost as rewarding is having time for hobbies too. I'm quite fortunate there as well.

Hopefully we can see you more frequently. This is a pretty good place to visit and participate.

One last shot for the day...

^ The load leveler would be a good thing for that. I may look into one, one day. If the table doesn't work out - that day will be soon.

^^^ Seems like a lot of extra work for a motor that drops out the bottom. Mine went right from the lift table/tranny jack, to the engine stand (once they were split), and vice versa when it was all put back together... What's the use/advantage of the engine hoist/crane?

It would only be needed if I can't get the table far enough under the engine to support it. Based on my quick trial (post #548), I expect the table to work fine.

No advantage.....no lift tables available to purchase locally when I was ready pull engine.Jack that I used would not lift high enough to attach to engine stand, with out cribbing for extra height.Working by myself had engine hoist avail for another project, using hoist safer option for me.

All the fuss for nothing. The table went in a lot deeper than I expected.

After I completed the exhaust installation and got the wooden pads just right, it was an easy separation.

Need to clean this thing up and prepare it for docking...

It’s a good feeling to get the lump out. It’s a much happier day when it’s reinstalled
Congrats on your efforts !

Harbor Freight. The 1000 lb hydraulic lift table. I bought it specifically to catch the engine. My buddy Coopduc used one for his engine drop.

Turns out to be quite handy for all sorts of things. Just like another rolling work bench.

It's going well. That's a nice looking table. Looks as though you could build Frankenstein on that. I like the car dollies for the trans...

Looks like a nicely outfitted shop.

It's not bad for the price. The chains that came with it to hold the trans in place were pretty useless. The tie down strap was a suitable substitute. Color selection is strictly optional...
