I’m going to “bump” so the lunacy doesn’t “stop”.

I hate to be the one to dampen your spirits, but perhaps we should rebound and get back on topic.

Today I learned that the replacement 3 way coolant hose for the AOS/return shown below doesn’t fit. The middle and lower outlets are too long and end up pushing the hose against the block in the middle, and kinking it at the lower

Cleaned up the lower engine a little with a small nylon brush, shop rags, some old cardboard boxes, a spray bottle of water and spray bottle of LA’s Totally Awesome. I am impressed! That stuff really is good at breaking down the grease and grime. The example before/afters were taken 20 minutes apart. Not perfect, but no longer unsightly. Some oil spots on the concrete floor soaked for 10 minutes and washed out about to a 7 of 10.

I finally made time to reorganize the garage so that the 996 in alongside the paperweight 951. Now I’ll have one less excuse to not get little projects done this winter.

Just noticed in your post you are attending a track day at Roebling Road end of January. What club is running the event and what is the date of the event. I just moved to Beaufort, SC from New Hampshire and would like to sign up for that event if any slots are still open.

It is a PCA event. The dates are January 21-22. You can register at clubregistration.net.

Let me know if you sign up!

The ducktail is from RPMTechnik, like Chunks. I do not have the vented model like him, but the profiles are identical and he has much better pictures. But here are a few from the summer. Left the top vents unpainted to show off the carbon.

Default small stuff

Replaced the passenger side rearview mirror. Noticed that it wasn't steady on one drive. Next time I'm backing up there's no mirror on the plastic base! Easy replacement. The mirror base snaps onto the plastic circle in the housing. Was careful to not stress the defrost wires at the back. Got them reconnected and the mirror snapped back in place. Also got to swap out the cabin filter...Coupled with the long way into the office today, this morning is really shaping up!

I had the same issue on the mirror. First time my mechanic just snapped it back in. As I’m frequently going super sonic (triple digits) it started moving again. Anyway solution is to use epoxy. He was knowledgeable on it as has done quite a few times with other cars. So far epoxy is holding great.
