Appreciate the kind words. I am not currently selling, but I have been thinking about adding a GT3 to the stable. Shoot me a PM and we can talk.

Approximately where in the adjustment range are your Feals set?

I originally installed the fronts without the spacers. Well, based on how these are designed, the spacers are your range of adjustment. You can add more spacers to the assembly to add more ride height, but I am good now that I have added them back in. I am 3/8” up from the lowest setting in the front. That put me at 25.5” from ground to fender lip. That’s measuring at the center cap of the wheel. The rear is currently at 25.25” ground to fender lip.

I tried to do the measure points for the GT3 track settings on the subframes, and frankly the car would have looked right. The front setting looked right, but the rear would have been too tall based on the way I was doing it. Those specs were telling me 115mm front at the middle bolt on the front brackets, and 128mm at the hole on the rear subframe. Again, those didn’t see right based on the way I was doing it. I decided to just go with the fender lips as I have always done with my other cars.

Don't forget the GT3 has a solid bushing subframes that sit closer to the body i.e. C2 at GT3 spec will actually be higher at the fender lips.

This makes a ton of sense now. I am sure my car is also due for some new body mounts since they are probably original to the car. I knew something didn't seem right.

Got a question for everyone. I recently removed my front tire and everything from the frunk of the car. I still have that threaded post and bracket where the tire screws down into. How do I go about removing that thing from the frunk? Do you have to remove the carpet in the frunk just to remove that bracket and post?

The "head" of that bolt fits into a slot. I think it slides up and out. No need to remove the carpet.

That's correct, it slides up with some encouragement.
Try a deadblow hammer if you have one.

I got it out. I kept trying to go up with it thinking that made sense. Then I noticed that the carpet has a slot to the left of the bolt. I was able to slide the post to the left, and it took a little jiggling to get it out of the carpet properly. 🤣 Stupid little things on cars that seem so easy, but took me a couple tries to figure out.

Did you install the 997 OEM shifter or the 997 sport shifter? When I bought my '04 996 last year, it was equipped with a 997 Porsche short shift kit. Although the throws are short, it is stiff and notchy. This was expensive for the previous owner (>$1000 with install), but is not a positIve. Hoping it will loosen up a bit over time.

I just did the OEM shifter with the function first shift right kit...personal preference but I am not really a fan of short throw shifters.

Hello from Raleigh - Interested to see how this one turns out for you. I was so on the fence about this or the function first rebuild. Still considering the 997 sport throw but that's way down the list now.

Same, the FF kit feels pretty dang good too!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the removal of those few things is going to impact your driving experience.
