I finally finished painting and installing the rear bumperettes on my 2000 Cabriolet. You can see the prep work in post #6096 in this thread. Below are the photos of the finished product. Original bumperettes Painted new left bumperette as compared to the original right one. Both painted bumperettes installed.
I installed a Yatour bluetooth adapter for my CR-220. I'm happy with the sound quality and glad I could keep a very stock appearance. I also took my Fikse FM10s off in favor of a set of Profil 13s. The FM10s will now be my track wheels.
I replaced the turn signal relay in my ‘99. No big deal you say? Read on.
I had what I considered an odd problem with my turn signals. Occasionally (and gradually more frequently) they would not work. The lever would click into place and cancel, but there was no blinker either on the dash or the outside. Instead, there would be just this buzzing noise that came from the steering column. I assumed it was a mechanical issue with the turn signal/wipers/cruise control switch itself, and I was all set to buy a new one. But the fact that it clicked and canceled didn’t seem consistent with stories of failure I’d read. Then I learned about the existence of the relay (I’m a noob) and since it costs little and is easy to switch out I said what the heck. Well, it worked, and I saved myself 250 bucks and the time it would have taken to replace. Win!

That dang headlight switch; extremely notorious. I've read on this forum many problems that it causes that you may not automatically associate with a headlight switch. In fact, my car wouldn't shift into 5th gear and I replaced the headlight switch - shifts like butter now. Obviously only kidding but you get my point. It seems any electrical or lighting issue, the headlight switch should be suspect.
While waiting for my engine block to come back, I decided to remove the seats and paint the seat backs body color. Took a few weeks, but today was the day I finished assembling them.

I have documented what I did on my engine build thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...l#post17757292. I have a spray gun and compressor from other projects, so that makes the job a bit easier than using a spray can. However; I did have some issues with the paint interacting with the plastic in a bad way and had to do the job twice.

I had to Google “what is a relay” which makes me noobier than most.
As long as you came away with a better understanding. My headlights all went out the other night. Assumed headlight switch but didn't dig in further. If not, oh well, its old and needed to be replaced anyway...
