Default Out for a spin after 22 days

Finally able to drive the car after 22 days. I was visiting my 81 year old mom in PR. Yes PR was fun but was ready to comeback home. Good things about PR great food cheap drinks, $1.25 beers $4 Don q rum doubles, some real nice beaches. Anyway took the car out 10 gallons of shell v power 93, groceries and Panera bread, busted the tower twice. The car was not hook up to a battery tender and it started right away with no hesitation.

West coast el combate beach 25 minutes from my mom

Finally driving the car again.

Double Don q and medalla beer $7.

My mom took that pic, had to take a dip by sunset

Combate during the day

Grouper fish bites, alcapurrias

At the son of my best buddy growing up. Next door to my mom. Listening to music drinking beer, high end shots and saying till next time. New to me Jameson finished in ipa 🍺 beer barrels.

Default We had some

Took a couple of American Wagyu Ribeyes. An Australian deboned lamb leg. My mother said that the reserve Wagyu burgers where the best she ever had Made an 11 lb Puerto Rican pork rear leg. The most I ate over there was seafood, plenty of shrimp octopus, lobster, snapper, mahi mahi.

PR medalla beer. I got 2 lbs of fresh shrimp and my mom made shrimp soup, added avocado to it.

Mom and I, I know I’m the ugly one. At Mangia ME , Italian restaurant. Dayli made fresh pastas and Sauces, owners are two female celebrity chefs that bat from the other side of the plate.

Me and the brewmaster at rincón beer company.

Had my greinke jersey but no good.

One of my high school classmates is a surgeon and drives this, bad *** he has more money than me.

My godfathers grandson owns this sports bar. We watched two worl series games over there. Got to eat and drink for free.

Pork leg, avocado and rice with green pigeons (gandules).

I smoked the 11lb leg in my dads old gas grill, I used apple and cherry wood chips.

View from the brewery, ocean lab. They make one with passion fruit that it’s to die for. I can literally go there every afternoon just for the view, it is in Isla verde. Craft beer catching up in PR.

Fresh octopus, shrimp, lobsters salads. This is a place where the Spaniards go.

In the beach apartment, my mom made rice, I chopped some of the rosemary marinated leg of lamb and added andouille sausage.

My 33 year old cousin bought this instead of a down payment for a house. We went for a sunset ride. I was Kind of loaded. These are street legal in PR.

Default I’m back

Started washing the car at 5:30 in the morning to go to cars and coffee. I sware cleaning the 408s takes as much time as cleaning the car. Awesome time at the get together in Sugarland. We stayed till almost 12:30. Love to be back to my habitat. Now at my watering hole watching college football. Taking the wife to dinner latter on tonight. Tomorrow smoking ribs, sausage with crawfish Mac and cheese.yes I busted the tower twice, 120 going in, 135 on the way back, I almost forgot got to say hi and chat with My buddy Tex squirrel, one of the nicest guys in the Porsche community.

Listening to Rick and roll hopefully I didn’t woke up any of the neighbors.

Had a few beers and a couple of shots of 1835 it was 45 degrees.

Cleaned and conditioned the seats also.

Alpha blue Gt3 touring. Yes a lady and it’s a three pedal car, awesome. That green is mamba green it looks real good in person but it stands out.

I’m a sucker for blues.
All variety of cars and colors. About 8 of us stay almost two more hours having a great time.

My local watering hole. An awesome finish to a great Saturday.

Took advantage of the car on the quick jacks and decided to clean the front wheel wells. Not perfect, but a LOT better than it was!

Before shots:

Prep for cleanup, I used Simple Green, works great:

Time for the bi-annual oil change. I feel #ManInAGarage's pain with a *barely* one car garage. Takes almost as much time to get the car up with one hydraulic jack (back and forth a few times up front) as it does to actually change the oil. Did a quick front end alignment while I had it up and super pleased with the results.

I didn't think this would annoy me as much as it really has when buying this house. Apartment garage was a 1.5 and that little bit difference was even night and day.

I agree. And then you see guys who drop their engines with 2 in clearance on one side to the wall or another car. I don't even see how they get their Jack's in position. those guys know something I don't but I would like to.

...a *lot* of sucking in the belly and going veeeerrrry slow when repositioning the jack so one doesn't scratch/damage the paint. I haven't dropped the engine, but have replaced the control arms, coils/spark plugs, exhaust.

If I had a 1.5 car garage and qucikjacks, I could do most of my work in ⅓ to ½ the time it takes me now.

C'est la vie.

I've been there and it was not fun. When I was at my mom's we had a 2 car garage but it mostly a storage unit so it was really just a small one car. Nothing is more maddening than having a 2 car garage with just enough space to park a small compact vehicle. Somehow I managed around it but not without rattling off every curse word in the dictionary every single time. It was so crammed in there I had to use every MM of space I had available. I'm not even kidding, I even had to resort to removing the ***** on the wooden cabinets and drawers for maybe an inch or two of extra space. When I needed to use the jack I would have to open a cabinet and empty it out just so I could bring the lever as far down as possible. I'm so grateful I have 4 car garage now with an abundance of floor and work space. I DO NOT miss those days
