They say to wait 30 minutes on final base coat and then apply clear in several coats 10 minutes apart. It's safest to follow their instructions exactly because all different brands and type of paints have different tack/dry/cure times depending on their formulation.
Always follow the manufacturers instructions on paint and body stuff unless you’re familiar enough with a system to push the limits a bit… it’ll still bite you sometimes even if you do everything right, and you want to remove user error out of the equation when that happens. Spraying clear over “tacky” basecoat isn’t something that I’ve EVER seen recommended in 20 years in the industry

Yeah, not the best choice of words on my part. I was really saying that you generally don't let the base coat fully cure or even fully dry (use whatever times the manufacturer recommends) -- but tacky wasn't the best way to describe that.
Just replaced my MAF (8 years old) and engine air filter (KN which you clean and oil annually) with an oem filter, as well as put a can of seafoam in the tank last weekend.
Woah! What an overall difference. Only thru a quarter tank of gas since there are only so many cloverleafs and on/off ramps you can drive in an hour between 4-7k rpm. But I will get thru the whole tank of gas. Hopefully by this weekend. Throttle is much more responsive lower in the powerband as a result.
Wasn't sold on the BMC and KN filters after 19 years of use, so I decided to go OEM. They are cheaper and quite simply easier to just replace once a year versus messing with cleaning and oiling the BMC/KN filters. No oil restricting the airflow.
Will be replacing the O2 sensors next. My shop will handle the ignition coils, spark plugs and fuel injectors next month. As well as dropping my deep sump to look around and borescope the cylinders from the bottom as well as from the top. Don't expect any problems because my oil tests are good, but just want to develop a baseline.
I have been reading about this mod for awhile and came across a good deal on eBay for a 997.2 S airbox. The airbox was delivered this week and quite frankly looked brand new. I read that I would need to use the 996 snorkel because it would interfere with the air pump but the 997 snorkel worked just fine. Perhaps because I have a wide body and that extra inch on either side helped out. I know this is a purely cosmetic upgrade but it does look better, in my opinion and now matches the displacement upgrade as well

997 airbox install
Thats on my list to replace the aftermarket (fabspeed) intake on my car!

I read that too but I was able to use the 3.8 snorkel on my '99 C2 narrow body with no problem.
The 3.8 airbox snorkel collar that snaps into the engine lid is different than the 3.4. You might want to consider getting the correct one as you may be letting unnecessary hot air into the intake. It is "Sealing Ring part # 997.110.250.00" and was $12.56 back in January from Sunset.
I put a Rennkit BTR-2 bluetooth adapter in the targa. Took longer to figure out how to get the radio extraction tools out of the radio than just about anything else. Very nice sound quality although I am far from an audiophile.

so you fit a 997 3.8 air box in the 3.4 99 c2? Cool, so if I understand this correctly, then you need to get the bigger snorkel?? Please let me know I may have access to a 997 3.8 box. Luis in Texas.

they should pop out once the unit is back in place.
Not in my case (single DIN Becker CDR-22). The tools pull the retaining tabs in and hold them there, so the radio can slide out of the slot. If you leave them in during reinstallation the radio will simply slide in and out without being held in place. In my case at least, the trick was to use a small screwdriver to press in on the retaining tabs; this removed the spring tension on the tools and allowed them to slide out. It took me 20 minutes of googling to find that little nugget.
Had my daughter help me to replace the brake fluid in my 03 C4S yesterday. From the looks of it, the previous owner hadn’t changed it for many many years, even allowing for what was probably some ATE Super Blue at one time.
Had an awesome time at blending coffee in Sugarland Texas cars and coffee. On top of that was able to drop by Texas squirrel 🐿 who ran the durametric on my car again. Deviations and fuel trims top notch. Anyway, for whoever was questioning the clean of my grill, this is first round today, sometimes I post pictures of 3 or 4th cooks, believe you ain’t going sick by eating my food. Second you is pork briskets and marinated beef fajitas, third round more sausage and country style pork ribs. Go cowboys. Sick 996 turbo. Over 1110 hp with methanol. Awesome drivers 996 turbo 85,000 miles, 3 pedal. This is what a 3.9 protomotive 3.9 twin turbo 920 hp looks like, can hold first gear at all. First round St. Louis rack, this is the appetizer for the cowboys game. 1835 bourbon on the water moisture cans with apple cider vinegar, just a way to modify the cook.
Bunch of people were taking pictures of my car And asking questions. I’m going to try to put a 3.8 sir box on it, 408s are gorgeous and sick.
Nice Silver Spider! Isn’t there a “smokers forum” you could put the rib pictures on? Don’t get me wrong, I love barbecue (especially ribs...) but every weekend? C’mon dude!

Did the same this week, except i was able to burn a tank of gas hitting a 120 mi r/t on one of our local high-rev twisty roads several times. A whole lot more fun than cloverleaves
Changed the oil yesterday.
