There is a lot of info here. Others have installed double din units themselves as well.

yesterday i drove my 03 c4s for 50 miles through a ferocious thunder storm. felt myself slightly hydroplaning a few times as i changed lanes, and i kept my hands on the wheel tighter then during my HPDE laps. Think its time to replace the summer tires.

It's absolutely a perfect match. Spray light coats as it dries quick too.

I took off the winter wheels (POs scratched up 18" carrera 2s with continentals) with some new Sport Classic wheels for the fall. Solid purchase that I got on CL. Wheels in great shape with almost brand new tires all around. I'll plan on refinishing the 18s and throw them back on in January/Feb when we get snow.

I installed new motor mounts.
The old ones, dated 2015, were not too bad, but since I'm replacing all the bushings in the suspension, I figured I should do the motor mounts too.
Old ones are on the ends, 1 new one in the middle.

I'm missing 2 of the rear control arms, so I couldn't install the rear suspension today, so I installed my Fabspeed cattless x-pipe & minicats that I've had since last April.
I also installed new O2 sensors.

The sound was great!
Exactly what I was hoping for.
(This is my daily driver, so I need it to be quiet while in stop and go traffic, but to scream when I floor it)
I think with the Fabspeed Maxflow mufflers and Fabspeed intake it sounds like a GT3 in higher RPM.
The car really starts to pull about 3500rpm.
Supposedly there is less torque, but I couldn't tell.
It surprised me by spinning the tires (Michelin Pilot Sport 4S) in first gear at about 10mph.
it really revs better.
I hit redline and it was still pulling until I hit the rev limiter.
Surprised me that it was at redline!
Well worth the money I paid for it used from a Rennlister.

The stock cats are HEAVY compared to the catless x-pipe.
I doubt I'll ever get to a dyno, so you'll just have to accept my butt dyno, which is of course the most important dyno!

So you have aftermarket mufflers and then high flow cats? Could you get a sound clip?

I have aftermarket (Fabspeed Maxflow) mufflers and Fabspeed Catless x-pipe.
I have the mini-cats to prevent CEL.
I also have a Fabspeed intake, and a GT3 throttlebody on one of Ben‘s plenums.
I‘ll try to get a cold start video tomorrow.

Drove it to a show the local Chapter hosts. I didn't see many 996s but some may have showed up after I left.

Looks great, Carl! I like the black wheels on a yellow car!
