What happens when the battery is depleted? Limp mode?

I really like all the changes on the base Carrera, its such a big step up from the 992 IMO.. I just hate how they didn't add LSD - if they did, I wouldn't mind getting one. Or at the very least, add it as an option!

This whole assembly seems "tacked on" and doesn’t aesthetically and physically fit the space where it is placed.

The matt finish on the total button makes them look visibly cheap. As much of a finger print magnet the gloss black is, the smaller buttons have a bigger impact visually.

That's interesting...
I wonder what happens in HPDE? They are usually 30 minute sessions. For a 100 second track like Laguna Seca, Say you run 3 laps to warm up the tire and get familar with the track, run 2 hot laps then you have to cruise around for 20 minutes to charge battery? I also doubt you will get the same performance out of the e-motor at lower state of charge.

If I see it again I will edit this post with the link.
Does somebody know more about this? I put down a pre-order for a Targa 4 and the Porsche center told me it should arrive at the beginning of 2025.
But is ot real that probably there won't be a Targa 4 anymore? It would be strange not to have a Base Targa...

Sacrilegious as this may be, this sounds similar to what Car and Driver observed with the Corvette hybrid. It obviously doesn't have the benefit of the e-turbo, but they did say the battery is depleted faster than it can be recharged under race conditions.

your math is wrong. The turbos provide 11Kw of regen at WOT. You’re not going to deplete it without some quality idiocy. There’s also no brake regen mentioned and it wouldn’t make sense in this config. It’s not a Tesla. It’s a lot more similar (although still different) to an artura or 296.

The whole turning the key fob on the left was something special to me. While I like the start button on my M2, I’m not expecting it from my BMW. I am disappointed they also started charging for Guard Red, but not charging for white or black. It seems the interior is slightly cheapened overall. My 991.2S is now a relic lol.

Here's the dimensional differences between the two. The biggest surprise is a smaller turning circle on the 992.2 and also slightly lower ground clearance.
992.1 on the left and 992.2 on the right.

That curb weight though. Especially if it does indeed exclude rear seats…

The engineer literally said they went from 100 to near 0 in a 7 minute hot lap.
