I’m not one to jump on the new model hate trains, but this really bothers me. Come on, Porsche!

Less expensive and they will still sell every 911 they can make. Also 2024.

More heat for the cabin. LOL
If you've ever touched the bottom of the 992.1 digital dash, you'll understand. It's ridiculously hot.

Until these complaints start translating into slower sales, Porsche will continue to up charging for "air"

From some angles it looks pretty good. Like always I'm confident it will grow on most people over time to be preferred vs visuals of the .1 cars.

New upgrade headlights look great to me.
Standard circle design headlights I'm not a fan of.
I really like the extra dimension on the sides of the front/rear bumpers. As a relatively new 992.1 owner I can admit that to my eye this is a great looking car.

Push vs. twist a plastic thingy. Same but different.

The dash is from the Tycan.

I don’t think it is (only) a hardware cost savings measure.

It is a design, development, and SOFTWARE ENGINEERING cost savings measure, because they can reuse the electronics and software across ALL models.

Tach has a different orientation now.
Idle is at 6 o'clock and max rpm at 12 o'clock

Two excerpts from the C&D article that I think will define the conversation between 992.1 and .2 cars:

"The single turbocharger is a Borg-Warner unit with a 27-hp electric motor sandwiched between the compressor and exhaust sides of the turbo. This motor greatly reduces turbo lag at low revs. For example, at 2000 rpm with a closed throttle, the old GTS required over three seconds to achieve full boost when the throttle was floored, while the new GTS does it in slightly less than one second—and that's while achieving considerably higher pressure."

"But the most impressive change might be in general street driving. Porsche says that when you floor the throttle from a dead stop, the new GTS covers 70.5 feet in the first two and a half seconds, compared to 47.6 feet for the old GTS. That astonishing improvement reflects the improved throttle response and should translate into great street performance."

Covering that much extra ground in 2.5 seconds is going to dramatically change the feel of these cars on the street (talking GTS vs GTS obviously). again... my "skin in the game" is to root for the .1 car that I own but I think the .2 hybrid powertrain is going to be quite fun to drive.... albeit no manual so us 3 pedal folk can still rest with our .1 cars

I don't disagree, but the .1 GTS is already almost too much for the street. I do like the new rear bumper (a lot). I just can't buy a car that runs out of juice when driving hard and you have to wait for it to recharge. How will folks track the .2 GTS?

I don't disagree either and every battery car has that performance metric covered as well. Boring.

Yupe.

Basically Porsche charging $4.890 (SD kit cost) to paint body colored on the pieces that already on the car. I am sure all of this will safe cost and reduce manufacturing time as well.

For 992.2 you could go with standard body kit and have your favorite body shop paint the same pieces
