FWIW,, I run a large Group 27 AGM truck battery in my jeep.
NEVER had an issue with amps.. Starts no issues at -21F , Runs my winch on a full load pull.
None of the standard batteries I tried come close to keeping up in bad weather..

FWIW My 2S is now running RWS with a Porsche supplied AGM battery. Everything seems to work fine in 80 degree weather. I have no idea if that would be the case below freezing. I don’t know how big of an AGM they installed to make it work or how long the battery will handle this type of usage. Just has to make it to the end of July for me.

We need to find out for those in need what can be done to recode, what is then disconnected as a result and what type of battery they installed (I would think it's an Interstate as Varta isn't imported AFAIK)

Porsche Techs handled the electronic solution. The dealership only knows they did it but does not have access to the download itself. If it works for a while I will get the battery details.

Thanks for that information.
So my point is that the LiFePO4 battery was (apart from being smaller and lighter than the AGM one) a requirement for RAS given the current requirement for this system. I would presume that the "type" of battery is referenced in dozens upon dozens of variables that the system controls and across several PIWIS modules. Analogous to when I tried to disable ***, mentioned IIRC 30 plus variables and several modules) I wasn't successful. I'm sure it's possible as setting the drive mode to Sport does the very same thing, so this can be disabled. It does look like RAS can't or wasn't; why?
I would have expected Porsche to disable RAS as the AGM battery is not able to constantly provide the required current for the system to work; reason for the LiFePO4. Furthermore, my point is that it could engage RAS and then fail leaving the system (partially) engaged with no way to return to "neutral".
I may be totally off the mark but I would want to have this clarified. Yes, it's better to be able to drive the car than wait who knows how long for a new battery, but unless you have in writing that what I've mentioned is totally untrue and could never happen...

My ‘21 has RAS and a Canadian car so has the Lithium battery.....but......my ‘15 GT3, also a Canadian car with RAS worked just fine with an AGM battery, so I have no idea of Porsche’s logic with all of this. It would seem unless something else has changed drastically that RAS should work fine with an AGM. Of course, only Porsche knows.

Precisely and so should we. Are we only paying 2 grand plus to save weight (and gain some longevity - not looking good so far) or are there real concerns that an AGM would not provide the reliable and consistent enough current needed? Food for thought

AP is on record as saying that RAS requires the higher current a lithium battery provides.

How much current does RAS draw? What’s the fuse rating, or does it use a thermal overload?
