Simple - stop speculating and just buy an ICE car now.
The 911 Turbo S waiting list for an allocation is at least 12 months or longer which will take you to mid-2023 at which time a 2024 Turbo S will be ready. There are some rumors a 2024 Turbo S will be hybrid. Believe me I am willing to get a 2023 model year but this is doubtful due to the waiting time to get an allocation. My nearby dealer is MSRP only as I refuse to pay an ADM on a used car.
Sounds pretty similar to the 4.0L engine in my Spyder. A 911 with that engine could be pretty interesting, even if it isn't any faster than the current turbocharged base engine.
There never was a 718 with more than 420nm of torque in manual from. Therefore the 9A2 was probably held back intentionally to preserve the drivetrain. The 991.1 already had 440nm from a 3.8L so 450nm out of a 4L is nothing out of the ordinary since the 992 has a much stronger drivetrain.
When the next gen 718 show up (MY2025) this engine will need a new home. MY2025
seem to be right in line for the next carrera T.
The previous Carrera T was often criticize for not beign special enough.
I could see a line up like this for the 992.2
Carrera 400ps 3.0T
Carrera T 430/440ps with the 4.0 N/A
Carrera S 480ps 3.0T
Carrera GTS 510ps 3.0T

i doubt that anyone here can actually help you with the situation you have put yourself in.
The only interesting thing about that article is how hard the author tries to justify Walliser's "no" answer ... well, maybe not the 4.0, but the 3.8 blah blah blah.
Porsche won’t be backtracking on its move to turbocharge the entire non-GT 911 range – despite reports to the contrary.
Rumours based on feedback from eagle-eared spy photographers suggested the 911 could gain the naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre engine currently featured in the 718 Cayman and Boxster GTS as an option with its mid-life facelift.
But asked if the 4.0 from the 718 GTS range will end up in the 911, Frank-Steffen Walliser, board member responsible for the 911 and 718, simply told us “no”.
So do we think the 992.2 is introduced as a MY23 or MY24? Porsche generally has a pretty strict seven year product cycle. Years 1 - 4 are the x.1 model, and years 5 - 7 are the x.2 model. Didn't the 992.1 start with MY19? That would mean the 992.2 should start with MY23.
Nice to see this post while my lock date is next Monday. 😕
My post was incorrect. The 992.1 was introduced as an MY20, so the 992.2 should be an MY24, maybe available late-2023 or early-2024.
Yeah. I was also convinced with the current situation of the logistics and production issues you should take whatever you can. I waited for some time to get a confirmed slot.
Anyone notice the new taillights on the 2022 season cup cars? The lights aren’t as ‘round’ & sit a little more flush with the body. Probably going to be the new lights for 992.2 if I had to guess
