The gauge cluster looks weird it's slightly different than the taycan and I prefer the look of 992.1 or even taycan's digital cluster

Damn. Was hoping it would get the shifter from the GT3 PDK. I kinda miss the paddles on my manual. Was toying with flipping back to PDK with next gen ... if shaver was gone.

I'd gladly pay extra to at least have gauges that looked like they belonged in a Porsche. They lost me once they ditched the classic number font, dash marks and fluorescent orange needles.

I'm thrilled I bought a 2021. The analog tach was the centerpiece of the retro acknowledgment that made the 992 unique. And I see the new digital dash has the gauge overlays which I did not like in the previous water cooled 911 models - I guess the engineers didn't like the criticisms about not being able to see the outer gauges from steering wheel blockage. Pffff....

Will the production model have an emergency stop button like in the photo?

I bet that is a requirement because of Brexit and a new EU rule and maybe a cost reduction to replace the off button which probably has supply chain issues because it was made in Ukraine.

I wonder if they scrunched the instruments together towards the center to address everyone's complaint that the two outside circles are hidden behind the steering wheel.

I don’t think so. The Taycan has 3 main sections (tubes) for display and they’re spaced well so you can see them. This one looks like it’s spaced as the previous dash was so it will probably have the same problems.

That screen also looks nice in the Taycan without the cowl; like it’s floating. The curved dash screen doesn’t look as nice with the cowl.

Awful looking upgrades interior wise but they did put the fuel gauge in with the ugly new tach.

It's software. Maybe, they will make a companion app that you can use to configure it?

Given the way software is today, they might even offer pre-set customs, like SpongeBob, that you pay $2 for.
