Good point! Well that takes care of the NA rumors. An NA engine would gain a higher redline, not lose…

The fact it has a boost readout directly above the oil pressure display is an even better indicator that this is not an NA car.

Possible they implemented a redline limit during the break-in period.

I just realized one good thing about this all digital setup is the analog speedometer dial is finally gone. I think I actually like it!

God bless you,
TT

I got my 992.1 on NYD 2021. Love it! Have been saving for the 992 GTS in 2023, but I feel pressure to take an earlier allocation because honestly the all digital dash really bums me out. I'm still in shock that the 911 isn't keeping a single analog dial like we have in the 992.1. It makes me feel old an out dated that folks want all digital screens in their sports cars ...

I feel like getting a mortgage just to buy up some Porsches - 718 GTS, Spyder, 911 GTS. Because this is it.

Also, this cannot be real. They way they are sticking out? Why would they go retro with additional daytime running lights, while going all digital in the dash? And it breaks up the classic 911 lines.

Those are probably the new daytime running lights.

No more light blades on the front fascia.

Everyone has their taste but I think those horrible on the 992. The ducktail on the 992 Classic is a great example of retromodding the modern 911, but those cannot be the final running light design lol!

They're not...they're there to hide the updated light blade design which will be in the same place as the 992.1.

Assuming the 992.2 is available starting in MY2024, when would those start production? August 2023?

Those lights are the very definition of ‘Carbuncle’. Hopefully the infection won’t spread to other parts of the body!

If nothing pops for me, then the next allocation drop, if I track previous years, will be late spring/early summer and those would be 2023 models produced just after the august shutdown.
Again, if Im tracking Porsche scheduling correctly, the detail (changes) of the coming years 911 model usually drop around the first week of April.
What a weird spot to be: waiting a year for a car that's 50/50 I get, seeing that a mid cycle refresh is already being test and will most certainly carry tantalizing changes, only to be now thinking "do I really want my 2022 allocation" because 60 days from now, I'll see that my car now has been upgraded via a model year change so what's a few more months wait!!
I don’t know if you are using a Ct dealer but my friend in Guilford Ct placed a deposit with Porsche of Wallingford last June on a C4S and took delivery last November.

I don’t know why your wait has been so long.

My wife and I were driving home from LA yesterday and saw the 992.2 mule on the 405. It was led by a 992.1. When I came up on it, it took me several seconds to realize what I was seeing. The back end looks very nice, but not sure I like the centered exhausts. The front end has the ugly wart lights like this picture. My wife tried to get some pictures, but in all the excitement none of them really show anything. The driver must have seen her taking pictures because they slowed way down after that.

Those frog warts aren't the actual lights. You can see the actual LED light bar is taped over with black duct tape.
