Hi, I'm speccing a manual 992 Carrera T right now and was wondering what would be the must have options you recommend?

Full bucket seats?
Leather?
Sunroof? (glass or metal?) (I know...I know T ethos)
Rear seats? (911 ethos )
Anything else?

Thanks in advance!!

screw the "ethos" and spec what you want. That is the stupidest thing being said in this thread repeatedly if you ask me. If you build a car based on perceptions of what it should be then you are only fooling yourself.

This, build the best T for you. The ethos talk is embarrassing. It’s like using the magic 8 ball to pick your specs. 🎱. The only thing about my spec I regret was not spending more! 🤣

Awesome! Can’t wait to see your cheap $12k interior pics, ha.

Have to disagree and say the ethos has merit. Porsche has indicated the purpose behind the T name. Most review consensus is that it only truly makes sense if you don’t go overboard optioning it. And people buying a used T will have certain expectations for what they are buying.

I would go as far to say most T buyers who are specing it against the “ethos” would probably not have bought the T if all models were readily available to order.

With all that said, in this market, I don’t blame anyone who has an allocation from specing it however they want. And in general, there should be no prohibition against any particular option. They all have a reasonable purpose for a particular buyer’s needs.

Must have? $1,570 Titanium Wheel Bolts. Just kidding. I have no idea. I just got the $60 wheel locks. Good luck, so many options available, ha.

What option does Porsche allow you to choose on the T goes against it’s ethos ??

I was on lists for base and s. I reluctantly jumped on (oxymoron?) a T allocation. Over time I’ve become more excited about all of the performance attributes a T has that I would not have optioned in a base or an S.

For me, now is the time to get a 911, that was the overriding factor. But the T is a cool niche and I like that.

The negatives: If anything I wish I could have more sound insulation than a typical 911. And the grey mirrors (I am going c exclusive wheels and no decals, I prefer to be more subtle; this will be a daily). Oh, and I desperately wish I could have spec’d chalk/slate interior.

You missed part of what I wrote. This was at the end: “And in general, there should be no prohibition against any particular option. They all have a reasonable purpose for a particular buyer’s needs.

But if, for example, you want luxury, the Burmester without the sound deadening materials and the piano black throughout really gets in the way.
