992 Carrera T Club
Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the engine sounds in a 911T with / without rear seats?
Curious how much of a difference this actually makes, and not something I have seen in the reviews.
Am speccing what will be a daily driver so leaning towards adding in the rear seats... but without any young kids... i have made less practical decisions than speccing a daily without rear seats

I'm glad you love it!
I purchased it from a shop in Japan that carried the item. I thought there was a thread on Rennlist discussing places where Silver Crest could be purchased in the US and so searched now, but I couldn't find my way to the product.
The Silver Crest I got was originally a Porsche genuine Gold Crest that was modified into Silver, giving it a luxurious feel. The price is approximately US$270 (39,000 Japanese Yen).
The shop's website is only available in Japanese, but I believe it might be possible to inquire through the contact form if they sell/send it to the US. Perhaps you could try using Google's website translation or something similar to take a look! If you need help, you can always message me :-)

I'll attach the link to my blog post where I wrote about the crest change. The content is translated using Google's automatic translation, so the English sentences might be a little strange. Haha.

After all we could have bought a quicker 911 for roughly the same money but opted for a ‘slower’ more entertaining daily drive. I exclude GT cars as they can’t be used as a daily drive.
In fact there are also a bunch of 992 T forum spin-offs. I’m in two others that were started by people on here, one being the ‘T Base Audio’ forum, and there are probably loads more??

I deeply apologise for bringing you yet another (lost count of how many) review of the T saying it's...
'The one to get' or 'The sweet spot' or 'The best value for money' or 'The one I'd buy if it was my money' or 'The perfect compromise' etc etc etc etc etc
In fact I don't recall seeing a single review in which it didn't come out top of the class.

Apologies accepted... next one, please
Has anyone found the lightweight windshield is blocking your toll/parking garage transponder? I have had to hold both outside the car to get a response.

Also, I was able to fit 2 carry on suitcases, a backpack, behind the driver seat, then a 28qt cooler behind the passenger seat with a laptop bag/weekender bad as well, then two more suitcases in the frunk, so there is plenty of space for 2 people to take a 2-week trip in the car driving. Some say that having the seats then folding them down is better, but I worry about the back glass getting hit.
Stuffing packs and suitcases on the platform, and folding the seat down makes me think that the glass will get broken with a hard acceleration or a hard turn or something.

Correct. There was no impact on mine. Three days after I picked it up I walked into the garage and it was cracked. There's a Technical Service Bulletin now on LWG, which is Porsche's admission that it's defective. It's not just the windshield. It's every panel. I'd say be careful but I don't think there's anything we can do to prevent it from cracking.

It's beyond me how this issue started with the 991.2 and hasn't been addressed, even if that means discontinuing it. At least the windshield. Not fun driving around with massive cracks on the windshield of your brand new car for an entire month. Yes, between the warranty inspection and ordering, it will take a full month. That doesn't include the week it was cracked but I couldn't get to the dealer that is 200mi away.

There is a collector here — I believe his handle is anonymous918 — who buys two of each model (often PTS). Perhaps one is to drive and one is to show, I’m not sure. I always thought that was pretty cool. I can imagine he has had to field the *why two* question innumerable times. But he wants two of each, so forward he goes.

Is the assumption that the T will be a mainstay in the range at this point, specifically that we'll see a 992.2 variant? I know it's impossible to truly know at this point, but curious to get everyone's opinion.

I can’t imagine why PAG would decide to not offer the T with each iteration. It is immensely popular.
