992 Carrera T Club
#2611
I just got an allocation for a T for build in Feb. Euro delivery unavailable so LA delivery instead. Keeping it simple, just GT silver and the basics. Here's mine:

I was able to find a set of 992 GTS calipers/rotors on eBay though so that will fix my one complaint about the T.

Is it just the appearance of the smaller calipers?

You could do European Delivery but they’d have to store your car in a warehouse for 7 months (I believe the first available ED spot is now September).

I don't understand the need for larger calipers and rotors. The base brakes are great and decently lighter than the larger sets. Even on track the base set does well with just a brake fluid change to racing fluid like SRF.

How do you know that they will fit and that the braking system (both physically and electronically) will be compatible with them? I'm not saying that it won't work. Just curious. I agree about the better aesthetics of bigger brakes, though they do add substantial unsprung weight (akin to bolting on heavier wheels) and you may notice that the car feels more ponderous. If you want to add the least weight while improving braking performance, you might want to consider an aftermarket track-oriented upgrade like an AP Racing/Essex setup. More in keeping with the T ethos as well <chuckle>.

Been a bit preoccupied with one thing or another recently,
No UK allocations yet, been advised again they're expecting their first allocations in January.
What's everyone's thoughts on Ice grey metallic?
Heavyweight T coming in and to hell with the "Ethos" 😎

I think it may look really nice with the agate theme, but it will be a low-key color. Beautiful, like GT Silver or even White (which was a front runner for me for a while), but in the end, a bit low key. I'm going Python.

I would go Shark but I recently sold my Shark GTS 4.0 and I think it's a little too soon.. bit like jumping back in with your Ex.. it feels good but you feel a bit guilty 😂

I would go Shark too because I think it's a GREAT color. But the 911T will be parked next to my current Shark Blue CGTS4.0! And I really did consider two Shark Pcars. But alas, I decided one fish and one reptile was the way to go.

Honestly I think the Ice grey metallic looks better on the configurator than in person. To me, it's kind of lackluster but opinions may vary. I just think it appears far more vibrant on the configurator than in real life, which is usually the opposite of most colors on the config.

Ice grey metallic looks an awful lot like the former Dolomite Silver and since that color was an $840 option vs. the current Ice Grey @ $3270 I'd never order it at nearly 4x the former amount. That rationale coupled with it being called a "Special Color" when compared to Carmine Red, Python Green and Shark Blue makes no sense to me (ditto Chalk).
