992 Carrera T Club

When I posted that there were 9 allocations, that was accurate. I was sitting with my SA while he viewed the nationwide USA allocations. He can see by dealership who got what. And it was 9. I have not bugged him again since then since I'm in no rush and I know I've got the first allocation slot. Maybe others can ask their SA's to check and report back, if you have an SA that you believe will tell the truth and not give a BS line.

I've been lucky to own many nice cars, 2 Ferraris (should never have sold my 458), 4 911's, and recently traded a 718 GT4 for a McLaren 600LT. I am lucky to be near a great track, Canadian Tire Mosport, but I've done the track almost 100x and to be honest, with the cost of tires (that last 2-3 days), and my age (53) I think my track days are behind me.
The problem for me is that most sports cars are no longer fun to drive on the street. The most fun I've had driving is in a '56 Speedster, you are working it at normal road speeds. Which comes to why I've ordered a Carrera T. The 992S is almost too much a GT car, relatively quiet, fast, but you can never really hit the speeds it was designed to do legally. To me the T, manual transmission, base engine, all the performance goodies, hits a sweet spot. It does what I think Singer does in a modern Porsche, it makes the car fun for the street. It's the celebration of the the end of an analog era.

I am at my dealer as we speak... No new allocations have been released in December. They don't have any expectation of receiving before the new year, but are hoping for an early January release...
He also confirmed some other news for me... His internal Porsche discussion forum for dealers and Atlanta headquarters mentioned the configurator issues and options that we are waiting on... They are planning to release a major update to the config with all new features (All deviated stitching colors shown on the vehicle, all paint options and combos able to be configured on the visualizer... AND They are planning to be able to update the T config with the Bucket Seats at that point... they have just wanted to release those at the same time as the deviated stitching update so we can view it all at the same time without needing to do a second update.

Possibly 10, if someone is saying they received after the original 9... But basically he just checked to see allocations from this month and did not see anything new nationwide to confirm that we are likely not over the 9/10 original that were released.
I think there will be a decent drop of them in January...

Also, good to hear @toph4242 's confirmation on buckets. I got this back in Oct but was starting to lose hope. (I redacted names to protect the innocent!)
Awesome... thanks for sharing. I think between your communication and mine we can count on them... But you never know in a post Covid world, so keeping my fingers crossed.

I confirmed with my SA that only 9 had gone out nationwide at the very end of November. I've since learned of at least one T allocation being given out by my very SA. It wasn't for European Delivery so it wasn't for me. Some more should be rolling out this week, but that's all I know.
I visited my dealership last Saturday asked about allocations for the T he said he will have one in January which I was surprised.
I just recently received my my 911cab in September I have 400 miles on the car I’m having a hard time convincing my self to trade it after waiting for such a long time.
just wondering if the T is a limited run, also if it will be available as 992.2 car.

Don’t know but it sure doesn’t seem like Porsche is making many 911’s in general, so it’s hard to imagine that will suddenly change for the T. People always say these special edition cars are designed to move extra inventory but you sure can’t say that seems to be the case this time around. Plenty of people still looking for base and S cars.
