I think a few users have reported on here that IGM is one of those colors that transforms in different lighting conditions

My current Macan is Dolomite and works very well, i quite like the blueish silver. However it cost a third of what Ice grey metallic is.

Spoke to a dealer in the Baltimore area yesterday that said they had received 2 T allocations in November with January lock dates. They were spoken for, of course. Not sure if those are part of the 9 referred to above?

Could be since it was reported that one dealer did get two. For some reason I thought that dealer was in California but I have not been keeping close tally of all the allocations being reported

My dealer in LA area said they received 2 allocations one for Dec and one for Jan lock in dates. I got the second one.

Ice grey metallic looks an awful lot like the former Dolomite Silver and since that color was an $840 option vs. the current Ice Grey @ $3270 I'd never order it at nearly 4x the former amount. That rationale coupled with it being called a "Special Color" when compared to Carmine Red, Python Green and Shark Blue makes no sense to me (ditto Chalk).

I feel like this is a bit misleading. In the configurator, you are right, it looks similar. Ice Grey Metallic is one of the least accurate colours in the configurator IMO. I would even argue Dolomite looks way better. Ice grey metallic looks a lot more boring in person and I would heavily recommend people seeing an ice grey car in person before choosing the colour. I was debating it until I went to the dealer and I would choose every single other "understated" colour over it.

I saw a Sapphire Blue targa at Parade and fell in love. I tend to like metallic colors, too. It's a fantastic color. With that being said, Shark is amazing! I hesitate to say "better" because I don't want to offend anyone, and one color is metallic and one is not, so that's very different. But I'm telling you all, when I had my car at a local Concours event, people fell over the Guards Red Turbo S parked next to my car just to ask me what color it was. It's that good. Will that change as more cars come out in blue? Maybe. But I don't think so. This is why I was very tempted to order the T in Shark also, but I thought that would be silly.
As for Ice Grey, for the money, I'd get GT Silver instead. But Ice is metallic which is why it looks different in person. Someone at the dealer told me it's way better looking in person because of that. It's like a Mother of Pearl look. For me, I like bright colors, although GT Silver probably makes my Cayman's shape really look its best, but I just didn't want another silver/gray/black car.
Forgot to add the pic... here ya go.
