992 Carrera T Club

I could see where some people may spec heavier builds because they are buying the T mainly to get the manual transmission with the base engine, along with the other goodies that come standard with the T. Or dealer specs.

Ended up with the Kidfix i-size. I believe it's one step above the Porsche version. Here's a link to it and where I got it since they ship to the US.

I really feel that way about my 992 as well... when I got it I was all set to do exhaust mods like I did on my 991T but here I am a year later and I still don't think it needs it.

My proposed T build: http://www.porschecode.com/PPQK28R5
A bit over the top and certainly not the lightest build. My rationale on some of the highlights:
Rear seats: It's just nice to be able to squeeze the kids into the back for a family drive.
18-ways: My wife will drive the car often, so the memory function is a must-have.
Burmester: Completely irrational. It makes much more sense in our Taycan, but I just like the idea of it on this build.
RAS: More for the reduced turning circle than because I believe it makes a huge difference in high performance driving.
PTS and leather / race-tex extravagances: These are all in the "only live once" bucket.
Obviously I could get a pretty nice GTS for this price, but fundamentally I buy the idea that the T is a more fun, usable toy for the street driving that is my reality.

So I haven't gotten a clear answer on this yet, when should I be bothering my SA about TYD? In theory I should be back to V200 by now but no email from Porsche.

Gave him a call, back to V200 with estimated lock 1st week of Jan and enter production 1st week of Feb. He doesn't think I should hear from TYD until closer to production. Also said I should get any build changes to him before xmas just to be safe, do cars get pushed up in production schedule ever?

My 718 was scheduled with a 4/28ish lock date and a 6/24 delivery date. Then the felicity ace sank and Russia went to war in Ukraine and I didn't take delivery until 8/29 so yeah delays definitely happen.

Oh yes I'm certainly expecting a delay of some sort. I remember my C63 sitting at the port for 5 months back in 2019. My SA sort of implied that the lock date could be pushed up earlier without warning, but thinking about it more he probably just doesn't want to scramble to change the build last minute during the holidays.

"This is a press car optioned beyond its own usefulness". I like that. Keep it simple. Keep it light.
Good discussions in the video. A lot of practical considerations.

Yep. If you build it out too much, I'd rather have a S or GTS. Keep it lightly optioned, keep it light to the T ethos and I think you have a banger.

Here's the current build I have submitted, only changes I'm really considering at this point are the seat delete and PDK.

PDK is an excellent transmission and by all means creates the faster vehicle. It comes down to personal preference. Can't go wrong either way, comes down to how you use the vehicle and your tolerance for shifting in traffic.
I also like the free trim painted in exterior color option on the T (vs $1270 iirc on other trims) instead of the fingerprint magnet black plastic trim.
