Sure, if raw HP is your main consideration then you probably arent interested in having the base engine no matter what. But for many people, 380hp or so is plenty and the unique performance package on the T is attractive. Different strokes for different folks.

No doubt that once they introduce the 992 T it will have some fairy dust sprinkled on it, receiving glowing reviews and will be "the one" to have at the moment. Then people will start trading in whatever flavor 911 they currently have in order to pick up a T. You could say that Porsche has this business mode down to a "T"
Agree 100%. 992 T is all but a certainty with the success Porsche had the last time around and how much PCA loves their 911 variants. Also, for the vast majority of buyers, this is such a perfect car to get into the 911 GT3 "lite" version at an accessible cost. 911s overall are getting so expensive and has such a high barrier of entry. Even the C2S is very expensive and when even decently equipped, it is pushing ~140K. I for one I'm all for the T and can't wait when it is released!

They actually did not have success the first time around w. the T.

T’s at $120k msrp sat on lots and could often be purchased for $15k discounts when new.

That changed as people began to appreciate the soul of the car, and they are now selling pre owned for close to MSRP. But it was misunderstood at first and sat.

Not against the T or ANY 992 (well the 996 was interesting) but not against the T but my point or analysis is the market is a bit different as well as the logisitcial chaing now in the last 24 mos and probably next 24 mos versus the 991.1 Carrera T that you guys saw and loved pre 2019. Given challenges logistically in getting 992s out the door they currently have announced...see it as a difficult propositon to push out in the next 12 mos (they would have to announce in less than 6-8 mos to make factory re-tool/shut down and produciton planning for the summer for 2023 production to begin this winter for a 2023 delivered car). They're still having issues with key components for all models across the board an allocations for some 992 models is still 12-15 mos for an ordered car at MANY dealership in the US and other places....so WHY would they make it for a car that sold a fraction of the inventory? Especially when the base covers what you guys basically want other than the manual and a few light weight options....esp when they can easily get another $20k or $40k out of you for the GTS optioned similarly? Just can't see the sense in that...from Porsche's standpoint other than to say they made it...outside of you and others wanting the car! Hell a good portion of current 992 buyers wanted just a base w/manual transmission instead of the 992 S for the last 36 mos almost and has Porsche listened and added the manual base car for buyers into the lineup? No no matter how much sense it would make driving and performance wise or you guys and others wanted it (including me). The current business model seems to support the upgraded car if you want the manual and differentiation and the Carrera T you ask for would likely put the car too close to the S as I noted...so why do it again? Call me confused...

Now they are a good buy especially in the pandemic for a used 991.1/991.2. Saw one at my dealer like 15-24 mos ago when I first thought about upgrading from my 991.1 but didn't make full sense to do so at the time. Who knew about COVID huh? Great looking car in the pics and yes was the dealer's choice for some but agree it wasn't initially a run about success like say the Cayman GT4's....so argument to make a 992 Carrera T immediately other than you guys want one escapes me? Halo model that comes with the Carrera black editions and special edition/anniversary options and such which often come later in the lineup which makes me think 2024 or 2025 when the 992.2 is released but don't see it as a 992.1 model for next year. If wrong then hey Porsche;s business model strikes again in that they've found a way to part us from our hard earned $$ again in a different way! LOL

So the recent 992.2 spy shots have sparked rumours that this particular model may have a 4.0L engine in it's lineup.. A few saying this will be the 992 Carrera T , I'm certainly a poised to see what more comes out.

I would be nice but I doubt Porsche is going the route of Lexus an adding a much less powerful engine just for the sake of natural aspiration. The T will probably have the base 3.0L unit

420ps in the GT4, it can be tweaked a little I'm sure, I'd be happy with that though.

Have a little hope at least..
unless you've got some reason why you'd hate to see an N/A 992 Carrera T
My SE has good information and some strong hints it's coming..
it's not about being right or wrong, it's about Porsche doing what they do best and manipulating people out of their cold hard cash 😎

Porsche has been following the same pattern in releasing cars. I would not be surprised at a 992 T. It may not have the 4.0 engine but it is coming…eventually. They even making the Safari / Dakar. Remember they said they NEVER put the GT3 engine in the Cayman…until they figured out the math to make it work..Cayman GT4 RS. Trust it’s coming….

There is a lot of money in the streets and Porsche going to try and get as much as they can and these variants do just that….

…..I’m waiting..

exactly my thoughts..
they know it'll sell and they're very clever at leaking certain snippets of information to drum up interest.
If it happens it's going to be epic.

Pretty sure your SE is manipulating you too. Most of them know even less about what Porsche is doing than we do. Most are great, hard working people. But they are grinding to live and don't have time for our games.

Also pretty sure all this hub bub is about the ST...

I don't want to see a 992 T. I have a 991 T, so do the math. Will be happy for all y'all that do want one, that join the T Army, and that will have put up with all the same hijinks that the rest of us do! Good luck!

992 T is coming for sure.
Will it get the NA engine is the only question, I really hope so as that will definitely make it special and serve the ethos of the T.

The NA engine speculation that I've seen published is based on exhaust pipe outlets being similar to the GT4, more centrally mounted. Bad speculative journalism - as the 991.2 had similar more central outlet positioning with turbos. Maybe Porsche realized the 992.1 outlets were a step backwards design wise...and simply redesigned the exhaust for a more central mounting?
