My dealer says he would be glad to take back any 911 cancellations since demand is so high and plenty of people looking for 911s!
Last year's delays made more sense as it was a new model run... The crazy thing about this hold is that its the same powertrain and its being held up. I've seen this a ton with first model years (ask the E63s benzo buyer's about their port hold.... nightmare) but this one just doesn't seem to make sense.

I hear ya but a month from now this will all be forgotten...
My wife's 2021 base 992 shows it will be at the dealer this Friday the 6th on track my dream. Went to the dealer today and they show the on sale date as November 13th. The boat docks in San Diego tomorrow, so who knows how long it will really take to get to the dealer. Even if it is fast, we will won't be able to drive it until the 13th at least.
I truly think the experience is lacking. TYD is a joke - it's barely accurate and photos rarely show up. SA knows nothing. No communication as to what's going on with constant delays with no end in sight. Likely no compensation for going through this.
Biggest thing for me is transparency. If Porsche were transparent as to what's going on, it would make all the difference.
Exactly, simply saying "I'm just happy TYD exists because 20 years ago we didn't even have internet" inhibits our ability to make sure as paying customers, that this process be better executed for those purchasing in the future. Frankly its the technology we know that Porsche has at its finger tips, that makes the lapse of communication so infuriating. How hard would it be for PCNA to send a weekly email to dealers with a brief update on the situation, so they could at least communicate accurately...As infuriating as it is for us waiting on the information, I'm sure dealers are just as perturbed waiting for information they know they should have received by now...
My 992 is supposed to come in February, I hope you people get your damn cars out of the way before then.
LOL I can just see mine arriving 1/1/21 and there is no place to park the bugger on the dock. Ship gets sent back - just my kind of luck...although come to think of it maybe they can just park the cars on top of each other.

If they run out of space, I’ll be happy to provide storage in my garage for them.
FWIW my SA confirmed the new on sale date of 11/13.
I don’t disagree that this whole process could be better—TYD could work, Porsche could send regular (or definitive if they have them) updates to dealers, etc., etc. But ultimately it’s a little like the wedding vs. the marriage. You want it to be perfect, but ultimately (at least in my worldview) the marriage is far more important. And in my view the config/purchase/wait is kind of like a wedding but ownership is like a marriage.

I'm surprised you guys actually had delivery dates of 11/6. I'm one of the group who's been in purgatory the longest with a car sitting in Baltimore since late August, but the date I was given for "dealer delivery" back at the last revise in early Oct was 11/13.

Well when the bride leaves you waiting at the alter for 3+ months, it's hard having a solid marriage.
Hey, I know I'm gonna love the car, but Porsche really crapped the bed with this one.
My SA contacted me late today and said the car would be there this week - I said, do you know something I do not and he said yes. Now, who the hell knows but I am finally hopeful.

FWIW, the on sale date of 11/13 suggests a delivery-to-me-date of 11/20.
