I do not know if this applies to Porsche but the TPMS system on many cars is related to the anti lock brakes and traction control. If that should be the case with Porsche also they could not sell these cars with major safety system not operating.

I received no photo after production completion. However, my Crayon C2S Cab arrived in San Diego four days early (May 9) on the Viking Queen. TYD says it will take 36 days to make it to my dealer 33 miles away. If its not the TPMS issue, they must be pushing it. Hoping they find some gas along the way for an earlier arrival.

Sorry - didn't mean to imply that you were questioning the info! It does seem a bit weird, but they must have a lot of capacity at the port processing center. With my latest (Cayenne), the ship pulled into Baltimore on April 22 and the car was through PDI and released for transport later that day. They do software updates there, repair/replace parts, and even minor body work for minor damage. Guess this is the most efficient way to keep things moving while not also putting all the burden of things like TPMS on the dealerships.
I have no idea if this is true, but could it relate to TPMS being considered a safety system? I believe that if there are issues with safety systems the vehicles can not be released for transport from the port. There was a recent software update that affected safety systems that had not been installed during production for a subset of 992s - and that group of vehicles were held at the port for a few weeks waiting for that software update to be installed. Another thing that certainly could have otherwise been handled during dealer prep.
I believe you are right. It think it is federal law that all vehicles (i think post 2012, might be wrong) must have tire pressure monitors installed and functioning. I think it is just dumb that high performance cars have to be jacked up at a port to do any mechanical work on the car, including tire and wheel balancing -- it just feels backwards. But i understand there is probably no other way as it is impossible to enforce this at 100s of individual dealerships.

Cheers! All good and thank you

I just checked on TYD after a week or more and noticed my car was completed 4 days early and now already at the port of Emden, arrival today..I got no photos either..when I asked my SA he mentioned it costs like 2500Euros for pictures and a photobook documenting your vehicle build! And that has to be paid in advance. Has anyone heard of that before?

dgtarga! yeah could be! haha..here is a copy/paste of the email..I don't want to throw him or the dealership under the bus so I left the name/dealership off.
Good morning Daniel,
Porsche will only do photo's in the production process when a guest request is made before the vehicle has been started production and the fees of about 2,500 euros for the photos and a Photobook are paid.
It is too late in the production to proceed with that process.

I guess I can formally join this thread now that I am registered with TYD and my build is confirmed. My lock date is in 14 days and my dealer delivery is in 99 days! I better get busy deciding on options! lol.

Well, I got one picture at the end of production and sure never paid anything for it. Never seen anyone mention a fee for these production pictures which were promised as part of the TYD rollout. If it's something they're planning for the future, it seems ill advised and ludicrously expensive!

Update, my dealer just called an allocation for September build is available. But I just purchased a used 991 that is pending inspection today.
edit: deal for 991 fell through, going to dealership to lock in my allocation tomorrow for 992 C2S!

I got a call today for a base or S allocation, MY 22, from a local dealer I had contacted recently. I told him I already had one for a Targa. He was shocked but happy for me. He asked the price. I said "1k below MSRP." Again, he said I was lucky. He asked how I found it. I replied, "Rennlist."
