At the destination port during the PDI process. On a Cayenne thread a few weeks ago people were describing about a 2 week wait at the port. I'm sure it's a bit variable.

First timer, been checking around for an allocation for nearly 30-days and got a call back yesterday from a dealer i spoke with approximately a month ago. They are calling around to their potential client list of 992 prospects as they just got some new allocations. He mentioned management wants $15,000 over MSRP for secure one. Is this happening all over ? Summary, i said, no, i will hold off and wait a little longer...

That's pretty steep. I was quoted 10k - 15k ADM on Targa models. I declined, and luckily found one at MSRP (actually 1k under). I think you should be able to get a 911 or 911s at MSRP.

Don’t give in to this. Keep looking. Lots of dealers will sell at MSRP (though, very few will give any discount in this environment).

Siem Plato departed Rhode Island yesterday already after a partial unloading and is headed to Houston and expected to arrive Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. Just checked TYD and my dealer date of 5/28 has not changed. But that said, until it hits port, I don't expect that my TYD dates will change.

Thank you very much, I emailed back that I would pay MSRP and to let me know if they wanted to make a deal. He asked me to email him what i would pay if i would not go along with the 15K over and he would take it to management. I have no issue waiting, time is on my side, not chasing this....

Right - On top of MSRP I'd pay destination charge, taxes, and document fees. Then maybe I'll buy another car from you in the future. Otherwise, see you later.....

Which seems crazy to me as they have to remove the wheels and then the tires from the wheels and then re-install which involves rebalancing and alignment etc. I know ports are equipped to do some PDI stuff but removing and installing tens of thousands of wheels/tires?

FYI- TYD updated a couple weeks ago and pushed the ETA to my dealer back approx 35 days to June 18. My C2S was on the Viking Queen which left California last night for Japan so I assume my car made it off and is now sitting in Benicia waiting for whatever it needs. Original ETA was May 15 at my dealer. The next month will be painful but I am hopeful they get the TPMS or whatever chip it is the car is missing handled quickly. Its only a 10-12 hour drive from port to my dealer in Portland.

Both Porsche of Las Vegas and North Scottsdale offered me allocations for MSRP, excluding a GT3.

Guess so, because that's how they're doing it....

understood and I wasn't questioning you. I appreciate the sharing of info on this forum. Lot's of good info here. It just seems so strange to me that they do it that way. I know for 911's they have someone at the factory get your wheels/tires perfectly set with toe and camber. Surprised they would be able to do this at a port on a mass scale. Looks like they can....

I just got an allocation and at MSRP for euro delivery or $2k discount on domestic delivery. And this is a CA dealer. So I would not pay any markup if possible. They are probably calling around because no one wants to pay that ADM.
