My car got to Emden on the 22nd. Going to Jacksonville. TYD is showing that it leaves on a boat on 8/14. I’m hoping it’ll be on Mediterranean Highway on the 1st instead. It ended up being produced and sent out to Emden a week early. The 8/14 date was when it was originally supposed to exit production on the 24th. So it got to Emden a week early, but still showing 8/14 boat. Btw, from what I read at the shipping site, Emden shuts down on the 14th for holiday. So whatever the 14th boat is will be the last for a few weeks.

The day I was loaded onto the Goodwood my TYD website updated and showed me as "On Vessel" "Goodwood". So you shouldn't have to wait long to find out if you made it on the MH or not. You should probably know on Aug. 1st or 2nd.

Unfortunately, I think you will miss the MH. To give you an idea of transport and loading times, my 911 was completed and ready for transport on 7/4. It was in transit on 7/6, and it arrived in Emden on 7/8. The Swift Ace docked on 7/12 and left on 7/15 however my 911 didn't make the Swift Ace. Instead it was loaded onto the Goodwood which didn't arrive in Emden until the 7/21. My 911 was loaded on 7/22.
So from the day I finished production to the day I was loaded was 18 days, even though my 911 was sitting in Emden 7 days before the Swift Ace left port which was going to Houston, same port that the Goodwood will deliver my 911.
If your 911 finished today then I doubt it will make the MH which will leave Aug. 1.

Thanks for your insights. My 992 finished 7/24 and left to Emden 7/25, my thoughts are it reached port today.. so I'm waiting for that to be reflected tomorrow.. and also am holding onto the sliver of hope it'll be loaded on the MH by 8/1!!!! My thoughts are Porsche is trying to produce and ship what they can before the break as they don't want cars sitting at port if covid resurges.

I checked in with Porsche NA yesterday hoping that there was some progress on my car but no luck there. Did inquire about when the factory would reopen after the shutdown and was told middle of August. Is it normally just a couple week shutdown or maybe shortened due to Coronavirus?

Hi Melbay... Can you provide more details about the, "They did a courtesy trade so I did save 3000.00 in taxes."? I am in the same situation and dealership is saying to get the tax savings, I'd have to give them my trade-in now (I receive nothing now in return), then when I take delivery of new car (maybe 5-6 months down the road) I get the reduction in tax. Was this how it worked for you? Thx

Yes, I sold the car to the dealer I bought it from and they did the courtesy trade. He assumed possession of my car mid June. The dealership at first wanted it right away and when I said this was unacceptable they said I could drive it for a couple months and then trade it in at pickup of new car. Their trade offer was too low so I sold it to him. The bad part is I am now waiting. Good news is I got $5500 more than they offered and saved the tax.
