Well, my car just got moved out tonight to production complete on 9/11 and delivery on 10/30. So, I guess it's either a parts issue or something else. Anyway, I will be putting on snow tires when it gets here.
Had my dealer look into the delay for me. Said I was lucky car got into production as impact of COVID is significantly reducing availability of 911’s through balance of the year. While the further delay of our cars would be the least of our problems let’s hope there isn’t the feared second wave in the fall that shuts everything back down again.
I guess I forgot to update this thread. Apparently, what a surprise, TYD is wrong! My SA sent me a copy of my tracking sheet this morning and I am at production complete! Waiting to go to Emdon. I've never seen anything this screwed up. What's even more amazing is TYD has updated showing production complete and still has an estimated date for it as 9/11 and still 10/30 at the dealer. What a disaster. I think all it's good for is getting pictures of your car in production.
I guess I am the only one being told right now that there are major delays impacting production by both Porsche NA and my dealer (who spoke to their rep). I guess we will find out for sure when '21s either start showing up or not.

We know there are impacts to production which is why allocations are so scarce. That does not mean that no 2021s are going to be built this year since Porsche would have to shut down their lines for the rest of the year. As you can see, we have 2021s finishing production as of this week. The only question now is if they will get on the ship before the August shutdown.
Not questioning whether they will be built, mine is in production and I have a VIN. However, I am being given a general reason for the delay (COVID) which is implying that the impact would be more broad (my point on showing up or not was in reference to the 9/11 date a lot of us had). Had I gotten a response like the interior trim I chose (Carbon Fiber) is on back order then I would have an answer that is specific to my car. The generic everything is delayed due to COVID rings hollow when cars are moving off the production line fully complete while theoretically my partially build car is sitting in some corner of the factory waiting for an unspecified part that is specific to my build. LASDSGT770 has the same wheels as my build so it can't be the wheels. Other people have mentioned their builds have gone through with the Extended Fuel Tank and the Ambient Lighting. So seems as if the parts specific to 21 Builds are not the hold up. Maybe the Black Headlights are the cause of the delay, that is the most unique part I can think of (though lots of 911 Turbos have them).

Honestly, I think someone in Porsche has created a Random date generator and based on my current experience, I have begun doubting almost all my dates. Your car may have a specific issue which has delayed your build and I feel your pain. Just take all dates with a few pain pills, take a drink of good Scotch and know that your car will show up someday.
Here is my TYD as of today, compare it to the sheet from my dealer....

Glad to see this after the other thread that suggested you had been delayed several weeks!

Black LED Matrix lights? I've got those, too and they didn't cause a delay.
All that said, maybe it is actually one of the new 2021 options and, as dumb as this sounds, they ran out? Supply chain issues? They were expecting bigger tanks, or the ambient lights, or the lightweight glass, but used the last one and don't have new inventory yet. I hope it's just a data glitch, though, and that your car is not delayed.

I think you hit the nail on the head. It is most likely supply chain issues. Porsche may have only had enough parts to build a limited number of 2021s before they ran out. Thus the delay waiting on parts. It could also be that they needed to shift production to other models due to limited parts and therefore are changing up the production schedule.
Those handful of 2021s that made it through production before the August break may be the only 2021s for awhile until production can ramp up to full capacity.
My dealer is still telling me that the NA reps are all saying that 2021 911s are delayed until later in the year. Most will not hit dealers inventory until January. Some custom orders will be available in November. It could well be that the few 2021s that made it, are it for awhile.
I’m thinking 2021 cars will be pretty rare. Glad to have mine out of production and it is even ahead of schedule, so far..... These will be known as the COVID cars....
