Like most of you, I check TYD only 2-3 times a day if I am successfully fighting my urges. I have been in "Scheduled for Production" since 7/22 with a 9/4 production start date and 9/11 completion date, with the assumption that my 992 would be built right after the August break.
NOPE, this morning I was still Scheduled for Production but now, BAM, I am in PRODUCTION. I cannot believe it. Wow. Now, it may sit all of August in pieces waiting to be finished or finished but waiting until September for a ship, but it is in production. Hopefully they will send me a picture of my car . . . . . . .

Congrats...Notice all points are estimates, so as long as they keep moving up...it's great! Wish they would load ours on a ship and get it out of the weather.
Good point, to date, my estimated milestone dates have been moving up. It will be interesting to see just how the August break impacts it but I am assuming it will still be a late October to early November delivery for me. In that manner, I still feel fortunate compared to many on this thread that have been waiting for 4-7 months.
Looks awesome, congrats! Another MB w/ Chalk interior (at least it seems so from the pictures). Another member posted his car last month w/ the chalk inside. I originally spec'd mine (Miami Blue exterior) w/ Chalk interior and then worried it wouldn't look right against the Miami Blue...last minute before the spec freeze I changed it to black interior with chalk stitching. I love the way it looks and don't regret it, but I still wonder if I should have just gone w/ my gut and went with the full chalk interior. Please post a pic of the inside at some point.
Thanks for the compliment Drizz.
In my case, the interior is Mojave/Black full leather.
I switched at the last minute from chalk/grey to beige/black because I was worried my black gt alcantara steering wheel would look weird with the grey interior trim. And I liked the beige anyway. Wanted good contrast with my night blue exterior. Beige is light enough that I think it’ll pop with the blue.
Thanks much. The wait can be a killer but delivery will be here before you know it. I have some great buddies that had cars being built at the same time. We had a lot of conversations here, and that helped pass the time. One buddy even set up a boat tracking thread, and we had fun the last two weeks just doing that. Enjoy the experience every way you can with the new friends building cars that you will find here.
Alas invite was not my TYD but link to my old 991.1 that I sold to the dealer. Still watiing. . Saw your car though...awesome and congrats! . Enjoy her in good health.

The beige is going to look gorgeous on your car! I saw a Night Blue with beige/black interior ( the car I saw had the standard interior, actually)--and it was stunning. I can only imagine how cool it will look with the alcantara steering wheel.
I'm leaving the room not because my Targa arrived but because my dealer didn't receive any Targa allocations. My order is being canceled today, and my deposit is being returned. I'm not completely disappointed, as I love driving my Macan and can drive my wife's 997 whenever I need a sports car fix. I might start looking for an allocation elsewhere, or I might just wait until next year and order a 2022. I'll be living in Pasadena then and will have access to some larger dealers. If anyone hears of any dealers with unfilled Targa allocations, let me know.
