Default LoJack mandatory ?

trying to get on list for Turbo-S Cab -- found an allocation possibility....worked up a build sheet.....when the final work order was written up they stuck LoJack on as a must have (?) - can dealers do this ?
i was told LoJack is installed at Port of Entry -- i say "bull****"

I don’t know. I know my last two had LoJack installed but I didn’t activate it and the dealer didn’t press it. No charge at all to me.

They have it for theft on the lot.

Dealers install theft devices on all their cars for protection on the lot, then will ask if you would like to purchase it. Some are more deceiving than others by adding it to the MSRP as additional equipment, which you do not have purchase. My wife's Macan had a theft system, protection film, etc. on her car which we purchased off the lot. When it was brought to our attention, we told the finance manager we did not want the additional equipment and they could remove it. No Charge was their answer. I advised them to not even think about putting that junk on our 992...

I hope you are correct as I also have both of those 2021 options, plus the new ambient lighting . . . .

Hmm... That’d be a quick turnaround if they were able to load it within 5 days, but I guess it’s possible 🤔

The last ICE-engined Porsches might be even more desirable than the 993 :-)

Mine will be one of them. Just did the paperwork at my dealership for a MY2021 Carrera S and build included manual transmission and sports chrono and turned in the keys to my 2013 991.1 Carrera S. Awaiting final allocation data as the one I was ordering against was sold yesterday so told they will swap another allocation or ask to upgrade the open Carrera base one they have or Carrera cab. No worries I'll take her whenever she arrives. Went with Chalk cause I just think the color is a bit special and I've have Agate Gray and Seal Gray in my last 3 cars....

Test drove a 992 base today and I must say OMG...this is a whole different animal than my 2013 991.1 Carrera S. Drive much differently and feels solid and much more powerful and agile. I didn't want to give the keys back to the base car. It was that good.

So ambient light might be the culprit here?

Right! Owners of prior 911 versions should not drive a 992. Just look away.

I’ve got ambient as well, also big fuel tank and 930 leather. As far as I know, my car is in production now. Started on 14th.

No—my car was completed on 7/15, so if delays are based on 2021 options I think we assuming that the delays are not as the result of the larger tank, ambient lighting, or lightweight glass.

That's what happened to me.... went in for an oil change with my 991.2 and was offered a quick test spin in a 992 (said the spider to the fly).....now I'm tracking the Swift Ace!

Well the day I've waited for, for over 5 months, will FINALLY be here tomorrow (7/20). My 992 is scheduled to show up sometime tomorrow morning, since it didn't make it on Saturday, so it's time to sign all of the paper work and make it official.

The only "glitch" is other than tomorrow, it is going to rain / thunderstorm EVERY SINGLE DAY until next Sunday!! So I guess I will have to reschedule taking my car into Knox Details until I can find a nice 2 day window. FYI, it hasn't rained the last 7 days of course. LOL Fortunately my wife's car needs to go to Knoxville on Thursday for an oil change, etc. (50+ minute drive) so maybe that will work out IF the weather shifts a bit.

Anyone else call to check on the delivery timing of the '21 992 C2S? I called again today to confirm the delayed dates that I was told on Friday. So my completion date was changed from 7/17 to 9/4 and delivery to dealer from 9/11 to 10/16. I asked if the car was already in production and they said yes and that the change is due to a change in release date. I am assuming when they say that it would impact all cars if the '21 release date is changing in the U.S.. If it is only impacting my car not sure what is going on.
