While we're at it, let's see a show of hands from salty owners that whine about ADM, silently pay it and come out to say, they paid no ADM making themselves feel special.

Like this piece (probably already posted). it's almost as if you're reading RL:

I'm pretty much giving up on the 992 GT. And the speculation pushes the 991 GT prices up, which is a shame as it's a prime track capable car that you can drive to HPDE.

Harvard is more like Tesla. Bypassing the distributor (dealerships). It would be like PAG selling us cars directly. PLEASE let this happen!
I mean really. How many of us actually test drive a GT3 before we buy it? Zero. None of us need to talk to a dealership to figure out what options we need to tick. What is the dealership's real purpose in a GT3 sale? To provide a human to sign documents? Hello docusign. Welcome to the 21st century. Let me just buy a car from PAG. Avoid the ADMs altogether.

Hahaha....I'm on their "list" and haven't heard a peep from them....must have had someone build that car and walk....otherwise why would a dealer spec one of these so soon...apparently they not very good at working down their list...so once again what's the point? (maybe its the fact I mentioned the 991.2 isn't on the table )

The entitled attitude of I “deserve” this because I’ve purchased [been ripped off] on 3-4 other cars developing a “relationship” with a dealer who may or may not be conscientious and grant me an allocation at MSRP is in our own heads. Sure it happens but if that’s the expectation one sets up for oneself then they are too attached to the unreality they dreamed up in their heads, have very little capacity for self reflection, and just need to come up for air.
So in the meantime if one isn’t willing to sack up and pay the ADM for the car now like others are doing this early on, you likely aren’t getting one. So you might as well do something else to pass the time and maybe maintain your sanity a bit…come up for air. Look around. Live your life. With time and commitment it will come to you. But no one but Porsche and the Dealers have control over this process. That’s what I get out of Mootys post. None of this effing matters. That’s why it’s relevant. Go ride a bike, build a sand castle, collect cool old cars you couldn’t afford at the time…do something to entertain yourself other than get stuck in the blind desire/affectation/“win the prize” get an allocation game. Oh and the bottom students at Harvard or MIT will have more doors opened for them than the top students at whats-a-matter-U so dong swinging or not that’s reality. And average incomes of those individuals are also statistically significantly higher throughout life than others…it is what it is, my firm hires for it. Self reflection matters.

It’s not necessarily the ADM dollars that bother me, it’s the resulting friction. It’s just so damn hard to buy a new Porsche GT car. I like spec’ing and buying new cars. So far, currently in my modest collection, I have purchased a new Performante, a new 812, and a new 765LT. I have a new STO on order also. It was comparatively easy to buy those cars. I submitted a deposit, spec’d my car, waited forever for the car to arrive, and then paid the price clearly marked on the window. Meanwhile, my local Porsche dealer laughed me off and said “I will put you on the list, but I can’t make any guarantees. I would be happy to service the car if you are able to find one through another source.” I suppose I can cold call the Porsche dealer list, but who the hell has time for that. Perhaps, someday, I will find the perfect Porsche spec preowned and pull the trigger on that. What I really want is the eventual 992 GT3RS, and a couple bucks over MSRP is not the core issue, it’s finding a dealer to sell me one.
Edit: by the way, it’s ‘Merica. I’m a capitalist. I am not grumbling about businesses maximizing profits, instead, I am complaining about how much harder it is to buy a Porsche than any other car.

I feel more for the guys with more limited budgets who dream of GT3 / RS. For them, it would likely be the only special car they own, but they are in serious danger of being priced out of the market.
