A place to discuss all things ADM
#151
Judging by your collection of cars, if you really want a 992 GT3RS, you will be able to get one. Sure you will very likely have to pay an ADM, probably a sizable one, but if you really want it, that won’t matter.
I feel more for the guys with more limited budgets who dream of GT3 / RS. For them, it would likely be the only special car they own, but they are in serious danger of being priced out of the market.

There are less and less buyers in lieu of "investors". Even so called enthusiasts are not driving these cars, let alone take them for track days. If You see a GT car at a less absurd price, it was tracked and/or has a tainted title. While the latter is justified, the former should be the general rule for those models, not the exception. So, even if you'd like to take your car to the track frequently, the whole valuation may hinder that for some track rats. Which feedbacks the low mile/high resale price. I see that in track days. Lots of parked GT cars, and those on the track are slowly driven (for whatever reason).
It's important to name the dealers doing the ADM and how much, not only to be able to shop around, but also gauge the new market. That should add pressure on the 991 market eventually, which is an excellent track car. Maybe then those machines would do what they're designed to do.

I wonder if Porsche knows the goodwill they lose in the reverse sale game. I give a lot more money to BMW because Porsche exerts no influence/control over their dealers and their sales experience is below that of a toyota dealer now.

Harvard is more like Tesla. Bypassing the distributor (dealerships). It would be like PAG selling us cars directly. PLEASE let this happen!
I mean really. How many of us actually test drive a GT3 before we buy it? Zero. None of us need to talk to a dealership to figure out what options we need to tick. What is the dealership's real purpose in a GT3 sale? To provide a human to sign documents? Hello docusign. Welcome to the 21st century. Let me just buy a car from PAG. Avoid the ADMs altogether.

As a funny aside, at one of the local dealers mentioned here I was told "I can recite you the book on the electrics and hybrids, but why bother. Jury is out on those gaining traction anyway. We don't even invest in hybrids, that's why we don't have any". this ignorance from a dealer in the most eco-focused state arguably in NA. Is this the partner Porsche wants in the field...?

VW doesn't seems to care.
Funny how numerous youtubers and actual motor journalists don't ask anyone from Porsche about this practice. No one wants to be blackballed I'd guess...

Right. This is from a certain well-known dealership in FL, correct? All you have to do is give the SA $10,000 and he will “order” the car. Six months from now, that SA will flee the country with all those “deposits” and the customers will find there was no allocation or order, and they’re out the deposit money. This has happened before but I guess either people never learn or don’t read the news.

I guess Porsche is doing everything right. Everyone is pissed about supply.
