A place to discuss all things ADM

Since this is not an ADM thread I will provide some perspective on the other side of the equation. I paid ADM for my touring slot. First GT car ever. So I am a rookie at this game. The way I see it, it was the price of admission for a car that is worth msrp + ADM during its 'in series' run. And under normal circumstances with no supply chain issues, in my area location's market, it's worth msrp + twice or 3 times the national average for ADM fees. I have enough market data on locally sold 992 GT3 winged cars based on my local network of Porschefiles and fellow car nuts. It was the same for 991.2 GT cars and touring.
So, I could either wait 2-3 to 5 years to hopefully get a slot at msrp based on my humble new car purchase history. Or pay the ADM, wait 6-7 months for the car and see where it goes from there. I have no faith that if the car was for example $250K out the box and selling conditions equal to everyone globally, there would not still be some form of ADM to be paid in order to get the car, as the allocations are limited. Contrary to what Mr. AP says on his marketing videos, " NOT EVERYONE who wants a car, gets a car" The opposite is a fantasy. I spent 6 months aggressively and publicly looking for a touring allocation, not tire kicking, so that plus the 6+ months waiting for the actual car will total a year +/- of waiting. Use it as a commodity to pre- trade towards the next series 99X Touring or this series "dot two" and keep the train moving along. One thing I can tell you is I am not loosing the ADM paid, or at least saving most of it if I can help it. Even if it means parting ways with the car ahead of time and/or ahead of the next series release. Having gone through two 992s already I can tell you these are not forever keeper cars, IMHO. I have no idea what owning a GT car is like so I am looking forward to the new experience. As for a unified sales model, that is a tall, tall order. Same way there is no unison with dealers that have sold current GT allocations for msrp, others for low ADM $25-$40K, others for mid/high at $60-$75K ADM, and others such as my local grouping of dealers which are $100K and above. In the end it is the same car, just different zip codes and a totally unnecessary depreciating asset to want/own. But yet, most in here, if not all, myself included, want one.

Ha! ASk and you shall receive. Now we have the mods merging all ADM threads into one. Very interesting. @michaeldorian I think the answer to your question is NO. I stopped being a watch guy about 5 years ago when I sold off 90% of my stuff. I kept a handful of Rolexes but I remember the time when there were easily a dozen submariners and GMTs as well as a few Daytonas on any ADs window and glass displays in store. In Rolex's case, they created a demand hype that snowballed into today's situation which has been present since pre covid times. That is not going back as "lists" in Rolex land are decades deep for some models. Now back to GT Porsches. I don't think if there were half a dozen GT cars at almost every Porsche dealer's lot at any given time, we would be in this mess. Interest would fade for non marque enthusiasts.
I have a good buddy that bought a 964 RSA in period as he had to 'settle'. He went to the dealer inquiring about a C2. They didn't have any in stock but he could order and wait 8 months at the time. He said didn't want to wait and the SA offered him the cheaper version RSA which they only had 1 in stock. My buddy bought it on the spot at a discount due to it's lack of options vs the C2. He owns it 'til this day and we all know how that example's story went.

Problem one, people drive the hype by the following, this is last NA manual, I have to have it, Porsche should raise the price, they need not to make many of them so I can keep value, what will my car be worth, let me bubble wrap my car and have low miles, ummmm I buy a track car and will not track so I can sell later for more? All these things are like “chum” in the water. Ohh, I forgot the other Porsche just raise the price because it’s worth more seriously? If you’re paying ADM your dealer is basically saying I have other important customers if you want it pay over, and like it or not that’s a choice. The majority don’t pay ADM believe it or not ………guys it’s a car, and many more out there believe it or not.

Ford EV getting $20k ADM?
If true, maybe the ADMs being paid for GTs aren’t so bad.

Thoughts on Touring allocation with $40k ADM? May be PTS eligible...I'm between that and a Winged at $30k which I mentioned earlier.

For me those would be good deals. PTS especially. If I hadn't gotten one already, I would take the winged at 30k, but thats me and I am sure people think it is silly.

Lets be realistic
If you want a gt3 and you dont have a great great history with a dealer your going to pay adm and probably a big one
like others i was quoted 75k to 100k over for gt3s i found a deal at a more reasonable adm
now the fun part i have been watching the used ones which are all 100k over msrp for weeks now and they are starting to sell
soooo i may flip my order when i get it in q2 2022 if covid doesnt shut down germany again for 50k or more or trade for a turbo s cab or a 2019 speedster
ps i have a lotus emira wait listed number 2 if i get that im flipping it as well
also considering a non porsche ugh like
lambo evo rwd spyder
488 spider
mb new sl 63
