hmm… I’m not usually an auction denier, but that surely was an odd +~$45k bid at the end there. Not to mention there are many cheaper, better spec Ed touring for sale at the moment too
I guess we'll know if this car is re-listed for sale in the next month or two if that was a shill bid or a dealer speculating.
A dealer offering MSRP to one person doesn't mean another person will also be offered MSRP, it's all about relationships. I'll give you can example, there was a GT4RS sitting at a dealer here in SoCal. Friend #1 went to go look at it and they quoted him 100k over and wouldn't really budge/discuss it so he bought a different one for 70k over. Friend #1 had no real prior relationship from this dealership. Friend #2 just texted me yesterday with a photo of the same PTS 4RS and said he just picked it up for 20k over which is the cheapest 4RS markup I've heard of outside of getting one at MSRP. Friend #2 is a huge Porsche collector with 20+ Porsche's between his multiple east/west coast homes and has purchased Turbo S's/other cars from this dealer before. Friend #2 also has a Neo Ruby 4RS at his east coast home he received at MSRP after spending 1m+ in Porsche purchases at a dealer local to that home.
Just shows that there's a big difference in MSRP/markup's based on your relationship/purchase history.

I think that the biggest single question that people have when it comes to making a GT car purchase is WHO are the MSRP dealers.
A few months ago, someone posted a Poll on RLshowing that there were 73 posters (40%) who obtained their GT car at MSRP with no ADM.
After nearly 450 pages on this ADM thread, I dont think that anyone has really answered the question of WHO these dealerships are.
No one owes you the answer of WHO these dealerships are.
No one owes you the answer of WHO these dealerships are.
I clearly never said that anyone did.
But I do find it rather puzzling that this thread has gone on for nearly 450 pages and no one has mentioned more than 2 or 3 dealers that are "MSRP" dealers.
And that's out of roughly 190 Porsche dealers in the U.S.

if you go purely by the numbers, friend #1 had the better deal in the end! Good for friend #2 that he is that well off.

you should call all 190 of them and see if they will sell you one at MSRP
Not that it appeals to a wide audience due to the challenge of keeping it looking good- but this car did have a chalk CXX interior. That’s somewhat equivalent to PTS I reckon? maybe a little less since “people” see the interior less.
Still $287k with fees and without arranging shipping. If it was a legit bid/win.

People are going to tend to not advertise who their MSRP dealer is, because there's no sense in encouraging other people to contact that dealer and get on their lists, thus reducing your own chances of getting allocations. And if out-of-towners do contact those dealers by phone or email, the dealers may just tell them they can put them on their list, but the list is long (since those dealers give the allocations to their repeat customers).

Correct, I won't openly say who I get my cars from at MSRP on RL in fear of "Certain People" calling them up and wasting my SA's time. OTOH, I'm very open about it with my driving buddies.
I dont see ADM's coming down anytime soon, especially in the Bay Area where tech employees are watching their stock options and RSU's go deep into the money with the NDX +41.8% on the year and the strongest first half on record in 40 years.
This chart tells you all you need to know.
Literally a classic inverted head and shoulder bottom with the left shoulder in June of '22, the head in October of '22, and the right shoulder in March of '23.
The list of customers for a GTS (before it goes hybrid) at my local dealership is 35 deep.
