It's their own way of flexing.

A very passive-aggressive flex, but a flex nonetheless.

Plenty of very nice used Porsches available today that are reasonably priced. 992 GT3 isn’t the only option and the price is atypically inflated because of buyers who create and believe hype.

Want a GT car which is NA, manual, sounds good, looks good, plenty fast on the road, and fun to drive? Get a 981 GT4 for less than half the price of a 992 GT3.

Want a 992 which has characteristics of a GT car, more comfortable than a 992 GT3, and much faster than a 992 GT3? Get a 992 TTS for less cost than a 992 GT3.

imagine if people took this advice for all aspects of life

- you like that hot, young chick? Don’t bother trying, here’s an older chick that’s put on a few pounds.
- you wanna lose 10lbs, it’s ok just take a walk and be happy with yourself

A shrink would call this rationalization. I am very happy that you're happy with your decision to get a TTS. Why you feel compelled to remind people of this every week is... interesting.

Because 992 GT3 boosters act like paying big ADM on a 992 GT3 is the only way to scratch that itch, as though there's no other way to 'get into the brand'. It isn't. It's just a car. They're all just cars. If the ice cream you wanted is sold out, get a different flavor. Who only likes one flavor of ice cream and can't enjoy any other flavor?

BTW, I have a 981 GT4 too, and I'd recommend that over the TTS if someone would rather row the gears and not wanting to go warp speed.

a TTS and an RS aren't in the same league, it's not remotely close to a different flavour.

Can you be more specific? And we're comparing TTS with GT3, not RS.

ok, then one is like a gelato and one is like an ice cream. they are not replaceable with one another. totally different tastes, needs and desires.

RS and TTS have very different design goals, with RS being very track focused and no pretense of being an everyday car. GT3 and TTS have more overlap in the design goals. But again, this isn't an RS thread and no one is making comparisons with the RS here.

No matter how much you want them to be the same, they are not. a GT3 and a TTS are different animals.

No one is saying they're the same. The whole point of offering so many 911 variants is that they're not all the same. Hence the analogy to flavors of ice cream.

you continue to wish them to be more alike than they truly are. ice cream and gelato have very different compositions, flavours and experience, much like a TTS vs a GT3. Flavours are more like different PTS colours on the same car.

I don't wish them to be alike. I would (and did) buy the 992 TTS with the intent of enjoying it on both the road and track. If I bought the 992 GT3, it would be for the track and I'd rarely drive it on the road. I've considered getting a 992 GT3 to replace my 991.1 GT3, but lately I'm thinking that I may just keep the 991.1 GT3 and not get the 992 GT3. If I want a car faster on track than these two GT3s, I have the TTS. If I want a GT3 for the track, I already have the 991.1 GT3 and I don't know that I'd enjoy the 992 GT3 more on the track. If you read threads outside the 992 GT section, there are plenty of people who aren't so enamored with the 992 GT3 and would rather have a 991 GT car, 992 GTS, 992 TT/S, etc. I had defaulted to the assumption that the 992 GT3 is a car I want, but now I'm not so sure.

You certainly spend a lot of time on a 992 GT3 ADM thread for someone not wanting a 992 GT3 and loving his 991 GT3 and 992 TTS…

I said it before - it’s good to hear that you love your TTS. That is good info for someone on the fence. But plenty of people disagree with you - they don’t want an AWD PDK turbo 911… they want a GT3 and that makes sense. Also your point about the GT3 not being a road car is just false (at least from the designers at Porsche’s perspective) so I think that comparison just doesn’t hold up.

Oh and by the way if I can’t get the flavor of ice cream I want… I typically just don’t get ice cream…

Didn’t say it’s not a road car, said I don’t want one for the road. You can drive 992 RS on the road if you want to. Like ice cream, car preference is subjective.
