Around 2015, my dealer offered me a GT3 allocation at MSRP and I passed. A few months later, he offered me another allocation at MSRP and I took it. The following year, the same scenario played out with the GT4. It was not hard to get these cars at MSRP back then. Some discount below MSRP was probably possible, but I was ok with MSRP, so I didn’t try to negotiate.
After that, the guys who wanted to own these cars ‘for free’, but hardly drove them, came into the market and it became harder to get MSRP allocations.

Some "enthusiasts" around here that get those allocations. Cracks me up. Also cracks me up how the folk get all defensive and bent outta shape on reducing ADMs. 992.2 GT3 going up $50k? Doubt it.

Agreed.
It's all about gross margins.
For Porsche, less is more.
And for some reason, this never seems to enter the mindset of posters here that continue to yap about how the ADM's will be disappearing and GT cars will be back to selling at MSRP.
They've been posting this "narrative" for 2 years now. They've been totally wrong. Meanwhile, during this time the MSRP on a GT3 has increased nearly $22,000.
Think the MSRP stays where it is ($182,900) come time for the 992.2 model?
Of course not. It will be pushing $200,000 easy.

A friend at a local dealership told me a tale about a guy that ordered a GT3, was all excited for it to come in...and when it was delivered he took it out and got a little aggressive and scared himself half to death. Apparently the car almost bit him and went back to front. Guy came back and gave the car back to the dealer.

It will be just under $200k, so $40k above the $160k of the initial 2022 model.

Pal? Are you kidding? Very few paid over sticker during the 2014-2016 GT3 years of 991.1 production. 997 and 996 generations dating back to 1999 would have been practically nonexistent to pay an ADM; it just wasn't a thing. The change coincided with the 2018 991.2. Stick to Fords, your knowledge of the national Porsche historical marketplace is lacking. Alternatively, you might just be from the Bay Area.
You keep on keeping on with your depth of knowledge of the PORSCHE HISTORICAL MARKETPLACE Hold your head up high, you've truly arrived
And I am from the Bay Area but i moved in 1998. So if that was your attempt at an insult, you got close

I don't have the same experience as you at all. The local Porsche dealer here was selling a used 2015 991.1 GT3 for 12k over and wouldn't budge. The best I could do was being offered 10k over for an allocation and that went right away. GT4's were going for 10k+ over for the 981.1 online here and at many dealers. Please do a search on the 991.1 GT3 forum at that time and get back to me.

Why would someone flip their Potschr 918 (< 3 years) and lose out on being a "halo" client?
That doesnt make any sense at all.
More bull****.

I was a little too poor to afford a 918 when they came out otherwise I would have bought the car just to get all of the GT cars at MSRP, including the limited edition ones like the 991R and the Speedster. The profits from flipping those cars would have more than paid for the 918.

Yeah they started cracking down on 918 owners flipping their GT cars because it was getting out of hand. Porsche did put that program in place because they were having a hard time selling all of their 918s.
