I was hoping to get a lightly used gt3 winged for 10-20 over original MSRP . I wonder if that’s possible . I guess I can try . I can always increase the offer of just walk away .

I have been following this thread for over a year and unfortunately received my deposits back from 2 dealers this week. Was given an option from my local dealer at their last allocation slot for a Touring at $100k over. Unfortunately I'm not in the realm of being able to afford a $300k car. I just don't think these cars are worth even 50 over. On a positive note, I feel like I just got a $10,000 bonus out of the blue. Despite coming up short on the 991.2 and 992.1 GT3T, I still enjoy my 2 997.1 turbos and don't feel I'm missing out on anything.

Watching the PCA interview on Youtube with Michael Maurer (ex-sales guy). Listening to his comments and looking at 911 inventories at a few local dealers, they are getting a few 911s in here and there (992s), but not a large number. I'd expect prices to be just as f* high by spring as they are now.

The thread has mostly gone off the rails with posters pissing on each other. Probably going to unsubscribe now.
The Olive green and Gemini blue cars are gorgeous. I hope their owners enjoy them for a long time.

I'd pick your route. It always was absurd and still is.

Chatted with my GM today. He said things are definitely slowing down, with used car prices dropping as new cars become more available. He expects a recession in 2023 and lower revenue for his dealership.
I also did a long test drive of a 992 Carrera S, which is the first time I've driven any 992. Still feels like a 911, but compared back to back with my 991.1 GT3, I thought that my GT3 is a much more engaging and exciting car to drive on the road. I'll say again: you guys who are pining for new GT car like a 992 GT3 should really try a 991 GT3 or some other NA variant of a 991. Costs a lot less than a new 992 GT3, and you may like the 991 more.

Despite the generational difference, one is a "regular" 911 and another is a GT product (or as they say, Born in Flacht). That will never change, despite the intervening years between the cars.

I traded shark blue 2022 GT4 with 2500 miles to a dealer for $4000 more than I paid for it - which was msrp by the way- and they gave me their first 911 T allocation at msrp.
they sold my GT4 for $155,000 - so they made around $20,000 on my GT4.
But they had financing and they certified the car and extended the factory warranty and I didn’t have to deal with all the crooks that would have called had I tried selling it myself. Also I can deduct my original cost for the car from the msrp of the 911 T which will save over $10,000 in sales tax.
If I could have sold my GT4 for the same price as this dealer I could have pocketed an extra $10,000 - maybe - but I would not have been able to get an allocation for the 992 911 T at msrp and the very first allocation this large dealer received.
then there is the value of a longer term relationship as well which will get me other cars in the future.
I also considered that the pricing is falling for all these GT cars so it might have been like trying to catch a falling knife.
But this dealer did sell my used GT 4 in perfect condition- for around $20,000 over msrp —-
took about a week for them to find a buyer. They first had it at $157,500 and dropped it to $155,000 -
So there is still some premium demand on these cars. Personally I doubt the GT3 992 will ever sell used in good condition for anything less than around $25,000 over msrp. Super high mileage cars or cars with a bad carfax or very weird colors could sell for less than buy even then unlikely at msrp.
keep in mind the msrp keeps rising also - expect a 10% but likely closer to 15% price increase in 2024 for the 992.2.
buying a 991 GT3 is not a viable option for most Porsche guys with the cash as it just is a dated vehicle compared to the 992. The screen and electronics and interior are dated looking.

correct but the point is, is the 992 gt3 worth the premium over the 991.2 GT3… many folks that can’t find a 992 gt3 at a reasonable price might want to look at the more affordable 991.2. I also own both

Yes, that has been my point all along. 991.1 GT3 is half the price of 992 GT3. Even after 991 engine warranty expires, the engine won’t necessarily fail, Porsche may replace failed engines on their dime, or you can replace the engine yourself for a lot less money than the price difference between 991 and 992 GT3. And no guarantee that 992 GT3 engines won’t fail after the warranty expires. Also, some people like the buttons and cozier cabin of the 991. People who don’t want to spend big dollars for something like a 992 GT3 should keep an open mind and explore their options. For me, the 992 GT3 is worth it at MSRP, not worth it at tens of thousands over MSRP - I’d rather get a 992 Turbo S in the $250K range.
