Ive had my 992 GT3 about 3-4 weeks now? Ive got close to 900 miles no the car. Its a fantastic car. Drives great. The manual is awesome. There is zero chance in hell id pay 100k premium for this. Maybe 10-15k or push it to 25k. But 100k - Go F yourself.

Pro tip- save money- find a 991.2 that fits your needs and buy it till the hype dies down. its 90% the same car. for 300k lots of other cars Id spend my money on.

And this is coming from someone who absolutely LOVES their 992 GT3.

The problem is that the 991.2 prices are nearly as insane as the 992 ones these days…
Not sure if the craze will ever wane, but these are tough times to get into a GT3.

Perhaps....but one could also say that it means Porsche will pump out even more MY23s to make-up for less MY22s. But that's long-term thinking.

In the short term, ADMs on MY22 could somewhat be affected, but probably not by much.

Why would you want to buy the older gen car, used, cannot spec yourself, for $30-80k over MSRP, with several thousands of miles, when that seems to be the market for the new car as well? If I had to pay the same amount over sticker, I'd take the new car

I doubt it can impact the overall ADM market in the US. How many GT3s were on that ship? A couple dozen maybe? 50?

Did anyone notice that the roof doesn’t come off on the GT3? A top that slides away or folds up is well worth at least 200 hp on the fun meter everyday. How many GT3’s will ever go around a race track. And from experience the gals are more impressed with that open top than the extra 100 hp or wishbone suspension even though it does help corner a lot better in the grocery store parking lot.

the only car worth an extra $100,000 will be the 911 Spyder….. that is the car that will remove a gals panties faster than even a turbo S.

the genius of Porsche is that the GT3 is 90% the same as the base Carrera. Same interior, same electronics, same body except for the silly giant wing and even same carbon fiber seats and I bet that engine is not all that different in a large number of components. The profit margins must be massive.
me end fewer letters on the back…..

i bought three different Porsche sports cars - 911 Targa 4, GT4 and a Boxster GTS - I had the fun of using the configurator three times - not once - got to agonize over deviated stitching three times and got to watch them in the factory and watch three ships steam around the world. Pulled the sheet on three new cars as well. And now I have three sports cars instead of one and each has its own personality. My idea is that the most beautiful girl has a hard time competing with three darn nice looking and fun girl friends on your arm and in your bed all at once.

just my experience - make Porsche give you another complete car for that extra $125,000 mark up over msrp. I bought 1,198 Porsche horsepower, 18 Porsche pistons and 12 Porsche wheels and three steering wheels and not one- but three Bose stereo systems. Okay you want to impress at the local Porsche club of America cars and coffee? Pull in with three new Porsche sports cars - best to have your girlfriends driving the o second and third car of course for real attention getting from other Porsche fans - if attention is your thing.

It is crazy fun to have to decide which of three new Porsche sports cars to drive each morning. The dealer was so thrilled they gave me a $3,000 discount on the Boxster GTS and sold me the GT4 at msrp and threw in a free hat! Now I can buy any other Porsche at favorable prices. Negotiating a $125,000 adm on a single car hardly gives you a reputation with that dealer as a savvy and demanding customer.

lots of arguments over which of the three seats offered by Porsche should one order. With three cars I got one of each style and truth is they are all comfortable. And three transmissions too!

tell your salesman you want to buy three cars - not just one. The salesman I have talked to say they don’t get any extra commission for writing up a sale with $125,000 markup on a single car. Now I’m legend st the dealer- the guy that bought three in the same year not just the guy that bought one car and paid an embarrassingly silly massive markup.

I'd rather have 1 GT3 than all 3 of those cars. I don't consider whose "panties will drop" when shopping cars, what a weird variable in the decision process.

You didn't get an MSRP GT3 allocation after all that money you spent, huh?

I have always put quality over quantity as a key decision factor for me… and never ever considered what appeal my cars would have on the opposite sex!
Everybody knows that these cars are “d#ick magnets” at best, and “goldigger magnets” at worst.

Market for new cars is 100-150k. Market for a 2018 is 20-30k. Market for sitting on the sidelines is zero.

Makes no difference to me. Having owned both 991.2 and now a 992, Im just sharing my honest assessment that these aren't worth 100k+ over msrp.

Plenty of $50k ADM 992 spots out there based on the ADM threads. The dealers/flippers asking $100k+ for cars aren't getting that anymore, they seem to be sitting at that asking price. I would rather pay the $50k ADM and spec myself with a new warranty than pay $20-30k over MSRP for a 4 year old used car almost out of warranty. It's a tough market to try and persuade people to buy the previous gen at these prices.

I definitely agree with you that the 992s are not worth $100k+ over MSRP

Most women think if you have a fancy car you have a small d**k. So buy one you enjoy. I agree a 991.2 GT3 is a great car, and, CPO you have a warranty. I traded a pristine one for for my 992 and they sold it for $25 over. A much better deal.

It’s all nuts and will go away …some don’t believe it but it will. All bubbles burst, and some will get holding the bag.

How’s the old adage go?… it’s not a loss until you sell.
