If you don't mind wasting a couple hours and possibly getting ink on your leather seats, which happened to me in the past.

My experience has differed; Carmax knows the market well - everyone cues off of current auction rates if they know what they're doing. Almost sold them a boxster once.

Carmax does not have the quality standards that a dealer would have, especially when it comes to a 911 so not best place to sell. Best place to buy a car is here, PCA.org, PCARMARKET.com and bringatrailer.com so that is where I would recommend selling a car as well. This is not the time of the year to try and sell a sports car of any type other than in Florida or California, etc.

Hey guys, currently in the market for a 991 turbo cab. From what I have read in the forum kbb is a poor benchmark for price. Considering this car has no issues, is this well priced? Thanks.

Maybe you should direct your question to the turbo forum? I am sure some of us are knowledgable on the big turbos but most of us follow the 991.1 NA and .2 turbo but not named turbo market

I've had great luck with Carmax. Sold an Audi S8 and a Cayenne Turbo to them. If you are expecting retail prices, well that is not going to happen. They pay wholesale prices and you walk away with a check. What more can you ask. Just like most things in life there is a cost with convenience. I could have got more selling as a private party but if you just want to move and accept you are going to get around wholesale it can be a nice option.

that may work well in some circumstances, with certain cars,... but my most recent experience was with a 2008 Subaru that my sister wanted to sell. She sold it privately for literally twice what Carmax offered her. And it sold quickly too! (local advertisement). So maybe it also depends on the geography that you are in.

Just curious, what happened to the OP STG? He created the most popular thread on Rennlist. Been a while since I have seen his name. Did he ever replace his fantastic GT Silver 991? He was always an unbelievable source of info.

Note that Carmax only seems to use Autocheck, never CarFax.

If you happen to have a car with a Carfax blemish that doesn't show up in Autocheck (which is fairly common), definitely get a buy bid from Carmax...

By the same token, always run your own Carfax on a Carmax purchase and make sure it doesn't show anything significant!

He's around and still posts here occasionally... I think non-Rennlist stuff keeps him pretty busy these days!

Check this out currently available in my area. Not sure if HFS, but it's a nice build (perhaps missing the leather interior), I love the color and the price seems reasonable!

Here's an aqua blue - also a sweet color:

Looks like a DD build - base car with no SC, PSE etc, but interesting leather interior.
