Have you contacted any of the selling dealers of those 16 cars to ask them?
I think the PorscheUSA.com used car finder simply lists cars that are in inventory. For example, I found several affected GTS models which came standard with SC. If a dealer has an affected car in inventory and you try to buy it, I would expect the dealer to inform you about the stop sale order because Porsche would not allow them to complete delivery. Nothing in the wording of the stop sale order specifically prohibits dealers from offering these cars for sale -- they just can't complete the transaction "until further notice" from Porsche.

I just stumbled on this thread and saw the Stop Sale pdf that a forum member posted. I've got a MY2013 C2S, so I did a little research and what I found doesn't seem to make sense.
To see whether this stop sale order is real, I searched PorscheUSA.com for pre-owned 2012-2016 Carrera S cars. I believe all 2012-2016 Carrera S models had Sport Chrono by default, so I was expecting to find exactly zero of these cars for sale. But I found 16 nationwide, and a spot-check of those confirmed the cars had the Sport Chrono Package. If there is in fact a stop sale on all dealer-owned 2012-2016 SC-equipped pre-owned 991s, the 16 Carrera S hits don't make sense. They shouldn't be there. So what's going on?

@LSR It is for real (confirmed by many dealers including mine) and Sports Chrono was not standard on "S" models. Did you check the ones that were sale if they had it or not?

Maybe there’s a VIN list and the cars for sale aren’t on that list (the Stop Sale bulletin references a missing VIN list). Or maybe, as another member posted, the cars remain listed for sale online but can’t be purchased if someone tried to do that.

I'm sorry but why is this being talked about right now? It's pretty common knowledge that not all S cars have sports chrono, not even close.
I think LSR is confused on what sports chrono is BUT there are SC cars on the porsche site right now for sale, cars that are listed in the stop sale.
Has anyone confirmed that this hasn't been lifted now? There was never this many 991.1's for sale with sports chrono in quite some time, looks like they just came back up for sale.

Thanks. Good to know, and that's why I spot-checked because I wasn't sure. Still, there apparently are MY2012-2016 cars in dealer inventory apparently being offered for sale with Sport Chrono. I've asked my SA who is usually pretty well informed, and if he tells me anything worth posting I'll do so.

Not sure how helpful this is, but thought I would add my recent experience. Last week, I attempted to buy a CPO 2014 Cayman S with SC from a Porsche dealer in Dallas in my near dream spec. They did finance credit check, etc. and then informed me that they could not move forward due to the stop sale. So, I have a deposit down and the car "has my name on it" until such time as the stop sale has ended. They had no idea how long that could be. Fast forward to two days ago, and a local Houston Porsche dealer also had a nice CPO 2014 Cayman S with SC for sale. I called on that car and it turns out they just sold it. I asked how they could do that given the stop sale and they said this particular car had an unaffected VIN, but that they had several cars just sitting in the back lot. For now, I'm going to sit on the car in Dallas as I love the spec, mileage and price, but have no idea how long it will be until I can finally buy it. Weird year!

My dealer recently listed a 2014 911 50th Anniversary Edition, complete with Sport Chrono, in just the last few days. I called on it this morning and it is indeed for sale. Strange year this 2020..........about to be ending soon!

I was just told by my (reliable) dealership today, with a simple email to them, that my car in NOT part of the Stop Sale Order, per my VIN:
2014 991S PowerKit
With Sport Chrono
Manual trans
For what it's worth. I suggest others here start doing the same thing. See what your dealership tells you. I'm 80% convinced they are accurate. Still 20% skeptical. 0% concerned.
