My friend who sat in my car said it was acceptable and he even said I should just drive in 6th gear so the drone is not there and everything else would just sound great. When the exhaust opens up it sounds AMAZING. Deeper and more aggressive tones.

I can't speak for Soul since I never had it but if I had to do it again for a louder sound I may try Soul, but definitely don't discount SW. Quality and sound is top notch.
soul cats are perfect. zero drone. great noise.

For The Win! Yes. Other than clear turn markers (if those count) my only mod and highly recommended. A few guys have done cats and a muffler delete, such as the SW, and felt it was too loud...

Good luck!

Thought some of you might appreciate - Matt Farah from the Smoking Tire on what he'd buy at a 100K price point:

11m19s

57m16s

Edit: apologies the time code querystring doesn't seem to work on these embedded videos.

Reliable 600 is just down right frightening, in a good way, given our cars stance and weight. Wow!!!

Now if you could have been in 6th gear, and at 66 mph.....that would be REALLY impressive!
Nice work!

There are a couple of us in CLT for sure. Car meet-up action has been a lot slower than normal since the virus hit, hopefully they will get back up and running soon.

Hi T-friends.

So this happened. Took off the stock brakes and installed the AP Racing by Essex Road Brake Kit (380mm allround). At some point I’ll make an official posting in a more official 991.2 or the T track/brake thread... but between us T owners here it is.

LOTS of lessons learned, which I won’t mention lest I get raked over the coals. Short story is we went with the complete drain method when switching the brake lines. Doh. I probably have another couple of bleeds or maybe even a flush to go to get the remaining air out of the brake master cylinder and/or even the ABS. I‘m hoping I won’t need the dealer to deal with the ABS. I also should have taken the time to wire brush the rotor hub.

I wish I had taken a better mental note of the brake feeling. I.e. how far do you depress the brake before it ‘takes’. I definitely have brakes (they work real great)... it is just that I need to go half way down to get on them. (My Audi RS5 is basically full-on after 1/4 way down.)

Anyone have questions on an install, lemme know!

Sweet! The brain is funny like that, no matter how much you "documented" pedal feel it was destined to feel uncertain as to how the stock resistance/bite point was.

I think the bite is not super sharp. I had not really paid attention but I think it's biting at half pedal, which is somewhat long a travel. So if it's soft it's likely not far off stock. However if your first perception was that they feel way soft they're likely softer than stock and will firm up in one way or another.

Are you talking new RS5? I had a sportback with carbon brakes and the bite was so insane. The first inch amounts to full stop. Also to note, the 2019 Golf R has some pretty sharp brake pedal feel. I don't think of the Carrera T 330mm brake feel like that. It's a little long to me.

nah Carrera T brake 'bite" isn't great. pedal is firm and easily modulated, but yeah, not great bite.

Ok, so maybe it is back to normal. I need to find another 991.2 or a T in the Portland area to compare it with.

I must say that given the bite maxes out at 50%, I’ve often wondered how I was going to get all the way down near the throttle for a blip. (Not that we need to... but I was wanting to try.)

So, maybe all is good. Feeling very proud of my first “mod”! Yeah, I am a teenager again!

No.

991.1 Carrera S is 7:37.9
992 Carrera S is 7:30.41

it's probably somewhere in the 7:40's for a stock car.

Edit: https://www.autoevolution.com/news/2...rs-114772.html

See there too. Who knows. Tires are the main factor. Dry Cool day with Cup 2's you'll probably do a lot more.
