Yeah I prefer to buy it’s yours to do what you choose, and don’t like being restricted to drive a car to save from the next guy. Dealers do this because it’s good for them I like options, and I may choose to drive 10k in a year. Value is in the drive to me not the what may happen.

I believe you could increase mileage for a small increase. Maybe 200/300 a month? Don’t remember.

Tbh, most people with mclaren’s, Porsche’s, and Ferrari’s etc don’t put that many miles on their cars. I was going to trade my gt3 and it has 7700 miles on and they were like “omg that’s so high”. I’ve had it for 2 years lol....

The whole low mileage thing comes from early Ferrari’s- pre 355 I believe where every 10k miles or so you needed to have an engine out service that was pricey. So people kept the miles low. It’s not applicable to modern day cars but people for some reason seem to think that low miles = higher values.

i put 5k miles on my 488 before pre selling it for my incoming Pista. I’ve got 2600 miles on my 720 in less than a year.

these aren’t museum pieces. Drive em. Kudos to you for doing so.

^100 percent agree

Have almost 21k on my 16RS.

Did 28k miles in my 15TTS.

Also agree with F car sentiments...put 3k miles on my 458 the first two months of ownership.

Curios. How does your tts compare to your rs. Seems like the tts is a car that "does everything".

Great question and honestly not that easy to respond because I love both cars. I have been driving 911 turbos since the early 90's and I would say I am more of a turbo guy. The thrust of the 991 turbo is amazing and with the current generation of tire technology its a daily driver/supercar. And yes it does everything really well and is very comfortable.

That said the RS with buckets is not as comfortable. The RS for me is almost the perfect car. The motor...wicked! Suspension...great! I have ceramics and I love the way they bite. Lastly I like the dual nature of the car. Turn it on and its on the quiet side but hit exhaust button(I have full GMG exhaust) its a screamer and you feel like your in a cup car.

If I could only have one it would be the RS. But not by much.

Popped by McLaren today since SO was picking up her 570 Spider after it’s first year service. All went well and even got a SW upgrade! Haha, cars these days.

They’ve got some nice cars in stock right now. I need to get over there again to test drive some of them.

Muriwai white 720S. Goes from white to light blue depending on angle.

Possibly the “plainest” Senna I’ve seen. Guess the owner wanted the stealth look. As much as you can do that with a Senna.

McLaren Orange 600LT with the roof scoop option. Supposedly only about 35 or so cars in US with that option.

I'm not sure if there is a better McLaren-oriented forum or not...but this seems like an active community. I don't have the means of most of you in this thread, but am considering an upgrade from my 981 Cayman GTS (either in addition to, or to replace) with either the 570S/GT/Spyder (used) or the new rumored twin-turbo V6 hybrid replacement that could be announced in December. I daily my cars, so reliability is important, but the more I think about it, the more dropping $250K on a car on top of my perfectly capable Porsche is seeming ludicrous (and potentially problematic with the reliability... not to mention higher-than-average depreciation). I LOVE driving cars, and I like the more aggressive styling of McLaren's, but I don't track my cars anymore.

Is a base McLaren right for me? Anyone have any insights on the new entry level hybrids?

Very little info out on the new hybrid, it's still a ways off.

I've owned a number of Porsches (as well as Ferraris, Loti, BMW M cars, etc) and my 570S still blows me away with its performance envelope. The fact it's been dead reliable to boot (3 years, 12k mi) is just frosting on the cake. It somehow combines Lotus chassis dynamics and steering with epic thrust, in a package that looks great and delivers highway gas mileage in the mid-20s. I'm really impressed with what McLaren is doing.

I would consider a Msc the day they will trash that crap turbo engine for a modern turbo but I guess to save money they will go straight to hybrid with another crap engine

That crap engine in the 720 pretty much beats the pants off anything on the road. Ignorance is bliss however. Enjoy your non crap engine cars.

Any details on why you think it's crap? The only way I would use crap and Mclaren in the same sentence is: Mclarens beat the crap out of any other cars on the road.

I had the pleasure of coaching a 2 day PCA event 3 weeks ago in 2020 720S Spider and was also lucky enough to drove it a few laps...
Anyone suggesting, even remotely, this car has a crap engine, respectfully, doesn't know their *** from a hole in the ground.

This car is a beast in every aspect! Makes my GT3T feel meek and mild by comparison.
