I’ve never driven a 650S but I did own a 12C for several years. My theory is that McLaren knew they’d have to throw everything they had at the LT to reverse some of the negative press received by the 12C and 650S - specifically that McLarens were too clinical and lacked emotion. I would urge any prospective buyer to thoroughly research the differences between the 650 and 675 to have a deeper appreciation for the magnitude of the changes that were made. Lightweight engine internals, new turbos, larger intercoolers, recalibrated transmission with ignition cut, stiffer spring rates, new suspension geometry/control arms, widened track, bespoke body panels - all in carbon fibre (including wider rear fenders), lexan rear window, thinner front windscreen, P1 seats, improved aero and more rake and the list goes on.

Jethro does a good job articulating the transformation starting at the 0:50 mark.

too many of them, and the 675 was built to be the proper raw car and it’s a 2900 lbs machine. Good compliment to the RS. 675 was not made in bunches, but was nailed with the MAC stigma.

Not worth buying is a strong way of putting it.

Personally, I would not get any non-LT version of a McLaren that is under 500k (i.e., cars other than things like the Senna, P1, etc.)

^^^720S is exceptional . The suspension range is amazing - truly it is.

Don’t buy a 650. Too much turbo lag and very boring drive.

Couldn't really say tbh, build quality issues at the factory, poor component quality control, poor design spec (less likely i think) etc perhaps. What I am sure however is that the cf monocoque in itself is not going to be the cause of windscreen cracking.

mclaren make very good cars imo but if there's reasonable dealership support nearby, you just need to drive them to be sure you do like the way they drive as they are a bit different to what one is perhaps used to. The original P11s (650/12c) are very very good cars and the 675 is an absolutely brilliant one.

I'm watching a rerun of the Mecum Monterey auction. A 675LT Spider with low miles gaveled for $230k before the buyer's premium. The trend still seems to be down. Maybe if the economy hits the skids these cars will bottom near 200k. It's very tempting if you don't mind the warranty costs, and I have to think you'd be foolish to be caught without a warranty.

Modern sports cars' prices all trend downward in the near term. Whether it's a McLaren or a Porsche GT car. Ferrari's, Lambos, etc. No different.

If you want a 675LT might as well find one you like and pull the trigger.

Car sold on Aug 17 for $253k, and was a mediocre spec at best. https://www.classic.com/a/mecum-mont...pider-pG6kY8W/

I have been telling folks you can get certain spiders in the $250k range. I don’t see them going much lower than that, if at all. If folks want to miss out on buying one of the best cars (if the the best car) they will drive in their lifetime to try to bottom tick the market then I wish them best of luck. Me, I’m smiling ear to ear today with mine

It was a 313 mile car. Original MSRP was $435k. https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0819-38...-675lt-spider/

It's a great time to be in the market and have discretionary funds.

Great buy for someone, but the spec is what let that car sit. The seats are like sofas in a RS and lacks CF.
