So I tend to think that the ‘hotter’ versions of the C8 especially, will tend to pull sales away from some of the brands you mentioned above, but primarily ‘used’ sales.
My thoughts: I’m one of those car guys that have the space and most importantly resources, to own one nice performance car along with a DD. In my case I have a Volvo XC90 for a DD; (but am thinking of replacing it with a Raptor soon), and currently an ‘18 AMG GTR. I have owned the GTR for two years in November and have been looking semi-seriously at replacing it with a 675LT; 991.2 GT3 RS; 600LT, etc. So something in the $200K-$250K range. But now that the C8 has dropped, I am strongly considering keeping the GTR for at least another 6-12 months until much more is known about the C8 Z06/7. Why? Well I track my ‘sports’ car around 4 weekends a year, and a new C8 Z06/7 in 12-18 months, especially if it comes in around $120K-$140K AND has the performance stats that I suspect it will, will be a huge savings versus the used cars I’ve recently been thinking of. Sure the C8 will drop in value versus the others, but 1: I never worried about that anyway, and 2: the annual costs to keep and track a Corvette is very cheap compared to anything exotic. The only caveat of the C8 is whether it will stay cool at an HPDE for 25 minutes in the Advanced run groups.
Given I’m not wealthy, but would certainly consider myself in the upper middle class, I think there might be many, many others who might lean like myself towards the more rapid versions of the C8 versus buying a slightly used 991.2 GT3 RS; used Macca, or even a new 992.1 GT3/RS which might be out around the same time.
I hope the above makes sense.

But the metric and the rationale you just outlined for the C8 in either a Z06 or ZR1 guise, applied to the respective C7 models. And the C7 Z06 or ZR1 never really made a significant dent, or any dent, in the demand for Porsche GT cars, or a Fiat or a circa 2000 Delorean.
And, while I know the response is going to be, "well, this Corvette is different, because the C8 is mid-engined." Yeah, I get that, and maybe that will be the deciding factor, but I don't think people were avoiding the C7 Z06 or ZR1 simply because the engine was out front. That may have been one of the reasons, but I seriously don't think it was the only reason. (I mean, for example, you're tracking an AMG GT R, which is sort of like the German version of a Corvette, so the engine layout can't be the reason why you find the C8 more intriguing or enticing than the C7.)
Time will tell, of course.
But like our friend here @robmypro will no doubt attest to, the last gen C7 ZR1 is not only a bargain, but a beast.

You’ll buy one after you see the 675LT spider I just bought. I have a Lizard Green 2019 GT3RS and am a huge Porsche fan, but there is no denying how fantastic the 675LT is, especially as a spider. There are no convertible GT2 or GT3s after all!
if you had to pick the perfect two stablemates under $1million, I do not think a better combination exists
I will post pics as soon as it is delivered.

Im 60 now. I have a 5 year retirement plan and dropping another $250k puts a dent in the plan. Love the 3RS. Drove it a lot yesterday. Amazing machine and the sound is epic. Even made the wife smile.
Watching 675LT vids. Wow. Love it. It would have to replace my FGT. Which is the RS stable mate for me along with “Charlotte”. Not sure I could part with the FGT ((Princess). Owned it 15 years and still love it.
Pondering in NJ.
