few off the cuff comments:
why is the upper portion of the deck lid black? I would have preferred body color
storage bins on the doors on this type of car is beyond me
the comment above about ride/performance trade off vs the gt3 is poignant. However, isnt this consistent w/ previous gen GT3s/Rs'?
the weight is disappointing
not enough color choices
the price is slightly lower than I expected, thought low $180s in USA
looks great

Cant find the configurator.
Thinking Purple with Silver or Orange black like launch edition.
Silver and white look nice, but a bit plain.
This is bull****: http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/91...hrono-package/

Three Wheelin'
US configurator is live:
http://cc.porsche.com/icc_euro/ccCal...fmodelstart%2f
http://cc.porsche.com/icc_euro/ccCal...fmodelstart%2f
looks like I clicked around too much and got a generic English language configurator...
I have created my preferred list of options though :-)

USA price needs to be cheaper as you miss over 10k is standard options in Europe including plexi glass!
Agreed same door card as GT3 would like to have seen lighter weight card in RS tradition.
aero is the key advantage with the car.
It's taller because the roof is thicker - the bubbles appear above the roofline of the GT3 if you see them side by side you will understand - kinda counter intuitive give COG etc.
Most disappointing for me was learning last night from contact that they had to pull engine redline back last July after 991 GT3 engine issues. It was meant to be 9000! The Hatz interview was a botch. Frankel F'd up. The engine is the same engine.
I feel my decision to add GT4 to GT3 is better than give up both for 991 GT3 RS given my needs and use. I think the 991 RS is a wonderful car that will be more than the sum of its parts and give everything a hiding! However the change over for me would be almost as much as a base GT4 so it makes little sense and for the way I use my GT3 I think I love if and wi keep the 9000 rpm original. I think if just got more cultish as it ends production and the RS helps carry the flame. I'm giving up my RS allocation tonight but I will follow the RS with interest and believe it truly is the best production 911 yet ever manufactured!!!!

Or launch colors with black interior?
Nobody knows what ultraviolet looks like but seems very bright.
