Just read that its 5 seconds faster than "the current GT3" at the Nurgurgring -- thats significant.

"lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in just seven minutes, 20 seconds. (That 'Ring time makes it the fastest current 911 around the benchmark course, and five seconds faster than the current 911 GT3 – so quick.)"

Now all I need to know before I pull the trigger is how much will my configuration cost?

Honestly, I expected more.

I do think the *** on view is fantastic, not a huge fan of the side pod vents, front or rear. (didn't like the side vents in my 997 TTS either).

the two colors do absolutely nothing for me.

so roughly 45k more for what is a very small improvement. If they limit numbers at least that will push values, but right now i'm of the mind to keep the GT3, and take the 45k and do something else meaningless with it.

I know I've been down on the 991 GT3 in the past;

...but for people that like the 991 changes over the older versions in terms of streetability and the transmission; the 991 RS release looks like a reason to pop the champagne and celebrate.

I can't see any reason for a 991 3 owner to go out and spend another 50k on a car that appears to be marginally better at best and think 991 GT3 values are going to hold strong...

Or launch colors with black interior?
Nobody knows what ultraviolet looks like but seems very bright.
Similar spec as you but different color and a couple more options

No it's not. It's double the price delta of the previous recipes - (not counting the limited 4.0) - and they actually took some of the tech away.

Since the carbon buckets are included it is really a $40770 price increase over a GT3.

slightly OT - I also believe that the biggest step forward that Porsche did with 991 generation was to make GT3 performances accessible to a much much wider basis of client thanks to PDK and 4WS:

PDK makes driving a lot easier, 4WS easen a lot entering the curve...till 997 you needed to be a quite skilled driver to make the car curve while keeping the right line along the curves (and going fast of course)
Just for doing a theoretical exercise...or a game, I think that the same advanced but not so skilled driver could exploit the following % of these car potentials:

996 gt3 rs 60%
997 gt3 rs mk1 70%
997 gt3 rs mk2 85%
991 gt3 rs 95%

I think the price of th new RS clearly shows the value of the GT3 at 130400.

Yep. I think Porsche realizes it left a lot of money on the table with previous RS releases and this time is going after every dollar.
