It’s absolutely ridiculous. 4k miles a year is nothing. It wasn’t always like that in the Porsche world. What a shame!

I agree, I buy mine to drive and enjoy them. It doesn't matter to me if they are worth less when I am done, I want the memories and the enjoyment they provide. I put 200,000 miles on my '84 Targa in 5 years and 158,000 miles on my 996 turbo. Now I have a few to pick from, so the miles don't pile up like they used to, but I am not hesitant to add miles, in fact I look for reasons to take a drive.

bear in mind back in 2020 you could find lower mile examples in the 90s so getting under 100 is not that far fetched. I remember looking at several back then but ultimately passing due to the engine issues. These cars are gonna get hammered once warranties start expiring.

100%… was talking to my Porsche SA and he was saying Porsche will definitely draw a line in the sand with the 991.1 cars 10 yr warranty and will be basically paperweights if the engines go boom outside warranty. Porsche will not honor anything outside that warranty and will stand behind the 10 yr they offered. With that being said the 991.2 cars will start to rise in value due to the 991.1 cars out of warranty and plummeting values.

Mechanically? No. Value wise - there are speculators and Ferrari-like ownership values creeping in.

It has nothing to do with math, it has to do with the foolish stigma that you shouldn't drive a car. Less than 5K miles a year on a car isn't not a high mileage car expect for those people who just want to stare at a pretty thing. It's interesting how people act when posting on forums and BaT complaining about how the car is meant to be driven, but wasn't and then so many saying over 30K miles on a 9-10 year old car is high miles. Obviously it shows you can't make everyone happy, but to me it does show how absurd things can be sometimes.

Speaking of mileage

In case anyone is interested in the lowest price manual 991.2 under 10k miles: 2018 Guards Red Porsche 911 GT3 (Manual, PCCB, FAL, Buckets, etc) - 7k Miles - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums

Service was done last month and the car is ready for someone to drive it.

When buying: Ohhhh high miles, better bring the price down.
When owning: They're meant to be driven!
When selling: Low miles, price is a steal!

That one did not ever catch buzz. Funny how some auctions go a little viral. There has been a run of high value Tourings and it might have been bad timing.

Car had OEM wheels included, but it was presented with Forgelines installed which I think was a mistake. Stripes were also under the PPF which may have been an issue for some.

I think most aftermarket wheels end up being a net negative to sales value, BBS may be the only possible exception to that rule.

I’m not quite ready to add my next Porsche, but this came up and it is exactly what I would buy, but alas the next home purchase comes first…
