It’s so funny (and strange) how absolutely terrified people are of tunes on this forum due to the fact they could impact the engine negatively and possibly hurt resale.

A tune may also void the warranty, if the car has one.

Also, if an engine has been tuned, you don't know the history of the tuning, and it's possible previous tune was more aggressive than the current tune.

I absolutely wouldn't touch a tuned NA GT car.
Think you’re spot on and it’s amazing some INDI shop sells the idea they can do a better job than Porsche. My INDI rebuilds Porsche engines for Porsche race cars one is on BAT now, and one just sold last week. I say that because he will not tune a non-race car, nor will he own a stock Porsche that has a tune which says a lot.

To be fair, if you install a new plenum, headers, exhaust - it's no longer exactly the same car that Porsche designed their tuning around. Therein lies the argument.

On the stock car, I'd say there probably is not much that Porsche left on the table

Let also not forget about emission standards that have to be met. Just because the OEM tuned a car to specific standards does not mean there isn’t room for improvement. It might just mean they can’t tune it to maximum power and keep the tree huggers happy.

This one has been sitting for a while and recently had its price dropped below 160k for a CPO. Has Girodisc rotors so I assume it's seen a significant amount of track time, but seems like a very solid price for CPO. I guess nobody wants a car that doesn't have front axle lift?

Good find.

Apparently the accident in Boise, ID was an unrelated car GT3 RS, not the gray car. But apparently the gray car also had a severe accident in Atlanta.

Didn't see details regarding the accident on the listing in Porsche Finder. Looks like it was a former PEC car hence the damage prior to titling. That would explain why it's been sitting despite the seemingly low price.

So question for those looking or already purchased. Since most of the 991.2s seem to no longer have a warranty. Are you only looking at CPOs or just taking the risk that the motor etc won't go? I found a low mile car under 8K miles but no warranty so on the fence on what to do.

My main requirement when searching for my now 991.2 was to have the CPO still in tact to then go to Porsche Platinum Warranty… I ended up getting another 48 months. Happy Hunting

CPO must be “ in tact “ … my car was CPOd “ 2 yr warranty from Porsche” last February 2023 from Porsche so when I purchased the CPO was then transferred into my name thus the option through Porsche to purchase the Platinum Warranty so an extra 48 months was $6,200 … no brainer in my opinion! There are multiple term options you can choose from.
