Surprised no one has commented on the 470 mile 2022 Touring that went $95k over MSRP yesterday on BaT. $100k over if you count the BaT fee to buyer.

Four more data points coming this week: 2004, 2010, 2019, 2022. Should be interesting. If I could only watch one auction, it would be the 2019 Racing Yellow 6spd Touring, fully loaded spec, $195k MSRP, 8k miles.

More dealer BS. This PTS GT3 has been around for over a year different dealers. Went down to $189k at one point, removed, re-listed back up to 202k....round and round we go.

I was watching that one yesterday. Still getting strong numbers. I knew who the original owner of the 2019 Touring was. Interesting to watch these as I’m selling my 2022 Touring after deciding to keep the 2019. Glad to see that the 991’s are still appreciated for what they are. Current values on the 991 don’t really matter to me as I have no intention of selling mine. Drove mine yesterday to the monthly cars and coffee they now have at my dealership Porsche West Broward. After having it for almost 3 years I still look forward to getting out in it.

what glaring difference is there between the 2, besides the obvious profit/resale value?

I'll take care of this for you Bruce...

it's because the 991 in 10, 20 years years or more will look like a classic.... whereas the 992 will look dated.

i don’t think you can predict something cosmetic in 10-20 years….but I respect your opinion. I was assuming it would be something more in depth….not superficial.

I have another thread comparing the 2 cars. Besides looks which is totally subjective I like everything about the 991 as compared to the 992. I prefer tue 20 inch wheels all around the 21’s on the rear reminded me of my previous RS’s and look big to me. Also fhe 991 seems lower to the ground. Didn’t like the door handles of the 992. Wasn’t a fan of the new gauges and infotainment system. Prefer the simplicity of the real 991 gauges and much easier to use the infotainment system in the 991. I know everyone says the steering on the 992 is much improved but it seemed somewhat artificial to me as compared to the 991. Also the ride is less “bouncy” in the 991. I do understand these are GT cars and I’ve had 5 of them so I’m not saying they should ride softly. I just prefer the overall driving experience in the 991. Value was not a determining factor in my decision to keep the 991. It had absolutely nothing to do with it..

I agree the 991 just has that classic vibe compared to the 992. I have a ‘88 Carrera that I bought new, so I think my ‘19 Touring perfectly compliments it. The 992 is a great car, I just prefer the 991.

As I said looks are totally subjective. However everything else on the 991 just ticks the boxes for me. And that does include looks, but it’s much deeper than that. The car itself is why I made my choice. That doesn’t mean someone else would have totally different opinions.

I was trying to look in at this from outside of Rennlist world but the mileage pic was clumsy. There's stuff people buy when on a secondment to the US, a toy or daily transport, my first 911 was just such a toy car but that seller was smart enough to go the pricier consignment route. Innocent until proven guilty so far.
