I don't disagree but it's semantics - compared to 2019/2020 $50K over is strong. Compared to the peak March/April of this year - this car is $20-40K+ down from there..

Don’t remind me! I bought an 8k mi cpo 16 gt3rs in July 20 for 155k (sold it a few months later). At the time, they had that, a 19 3rs, a gt3, and 2 gt2rs in the showroom.. the 2rs were weissachs in the 320 range.

I have had 4 PM’s today ask about msrp and what I paid. To save some folks time of having to pm me and read my banter… msrp on my car was 225k and I paid 260k delivered to me. ONLY 35k over msrp on a 3 year old car hahahaha. Sounds comical stated out loud. Good news is I get more joy from my depreciating assets than my appreciating ones!

Nice pickup, definitely the best deal on a touring I’ve seen in a year watching the markets. I take solace in the fact that you swooped in quickly, no way I would have beat you or the other guy to it.

Took my new chalk touring out for a Sunday morning backroads drive yesterday. What. A. Car.

Most non pts Tourings sold in the 50k or so range above MSRP except for a few. I know there were some that were above that especially if the original car had a very low MSRP. I still think they are doing pretty well.

The last straw for me was when the seats failed to recline properly. There's a setting that automatically reclines when you get out of the car and moves forward once you're in it. One day after sitting down the seat started to move forward and the back went too far forward and got stuck. So it ended up being completely upright. Called Ogara and they wanted to charge me $250 to fix it. Went in to fix it and the service guy took the car in, brought over his laptop, plugged it into the car, ran a reset sequence on the seat and done. Took no more than 3 minutes total....and they couldn't just do that for me for free. Told myself, F this. There were also exterior body panels that are literally double sided taped down. Ridiculous. List of issues I had with the car...
  • Horn faults ALL the time
  • Turn signal faults ALL the time
  • Coolant tank rupture
  • Seat wouldn't recline
  • Car wouldn't start sometimes unless I literally stood on top of the brake pedals - happened a lot
  • Car wouldn't start unless the key was in some magical unknown spot in the car - happened ALL THE TIME
  • Door wouldn't latch when trying to close
  • Rear backup camera wouldn't work after a spirited drive
On top of that, the infotainment system looks like something that came out of the 80s.
I had pretty much all the same problems you had on your 570s as I did on my 570s minus the coolant tank and door latch not closing. I did have a steering column fault where the steering wheel couldn't be turned, that was fun!

The most annoying was getting my my car from valet and they had to come tell me it wouldnt start, i knew the issue like you, the key was not in the magical spot where the car would start lol.

Will never buy another McLaren again.

I had similar issues with a 650S, even using it as a daily driver:

- Hood latch warning (dealer couldn't fix it after several visits).
- Car not starting randomly (brake pedal / key issues).
- PCC error (chassis). Most likely due to a bad accumulator but dealer couldn't find which one, we replaced the ones from one side but ended up failing again.

Even having no repair cost exposure (extended warranty or similar) I would not have a Mclaren again, too annoying to have the car randomly not starting, having the car at the dealer half it's life or having a warning message every time you want to drive it.

The McLaren experience is rough on everyone. Now that you mention it I did have the hood latch warning, jumped out of my car multiple times to see that it was actually closed.

My 570s had 2K miles on it, brand new with warranty in place. So all my issues were covered but I saw the writing on the wall and sold the car 6 months later after getting banged by the dealer for the 1st year 5K mile service of $2,800 which was an oil change, brake fluid flush and 65 point inspection (code word for no lube, sandpaper only)

Yellow 2019 6sp Touring just went for $232,000 on BaT, which is $51,200 over MSRP if you include BaT fee. 8k miles. Loaded spec.

As I said in my previous post, they are still getting good prices despite what others may think.

Porsche Carlsbad had this nice CPO PTS 991.1 RS (13k miles) for months at $239K with no sale, but it appears to have now gone on to GrandPrix Motors where I'm sure it will be higher at least initially. More of the dealer to dealer movement of the .1 RSs anyway.

It was reported that this car was on consignment and the owner wasn’t willing to negotiate. Wonder what Grandprix paid him…
