A later build with WP, Mg wheels, and a lot of boxes ticked to the tune of $257K. The important to me items were single owner, low 1500 miles and CPO’d until July 2025, so just under 3yrs warranty.
I have had a few PMs after I originally posted requesting pricing. So I paid $275K or $18K over MSRP. I also traded my 2019 GTS and I was super happy with the appraised trade.
Anyone else noticed that a there have been a bunch of price drops the last couple of days? Intent on getting either a 2016 GT3RS, 2018 GT3 or a 2019 GT3RS. Any thoughts on the following two cars?
Already have a 2016 Deman Spyder, so whatever I get is going to be a PDK.
Any thoughts appreciated on the difference between the 2016 and 2019 GR3RS (I saw the thread about the 2016 GT3RS vs. 2018 GT3, but couldn't find one on really comparing the 2 RS's), as well as these two cars in particular.

Looks like the two you are looking at are pretty similar other than color. In the RS package everyone seems to like the Chalk better than black/green combo, but that is my totally unscientific observation.
I had a .1RS for a year and a half and loved it. Bought it a .2RS and was actually disappointed a bit for the first few weeks because it didn't feel as raw, and transmission shift/hold points were so different. Then I got used to it's driving differences, and started to love it. I drove a .1RS again a couple months ago and I was super happy I had my .2RS. The .2 really did make some noticeable improvements over the .1 in terms of handling and power application. That info might not be very helpful, but I guess the bottom line is that they are similar yet very different. I would have been totally happy keeping my .1 if I hadn't spent a lot of time in a .2. Not sure what your intentions are with the car, but if you can find a .1 for a great price then buy it. You will probably not be disappointed. Similarly, if you find a .2 for a good price you won't be disappointed. As a personal note, I don't think I would give $240K-$250K for a non WP .2 with 10K+ miles. That's just me though.

its not new, dealers have been dropping prices by 5k or so every other week for a while now and the ones that arent, have been sititng on the ones that arent highest desirable spec for months
i dont know rs' much but the black one seems to be some sort of matte? not sure if that was an option or has some sort of pff film on it
sbrsport - Given you're not asking about the 1,149 miles chalk RS on consignment in AZ for $319k, you have some sort of a budget (we all do, most just act like they don't to be macho). If you can wait 3-6 months (or longer), that'd be my advice. Someone else might "top-out" higher than you on this GT3 slide and pull the trigger before you on these specific cars, but there will be more...and they will be cheaper....significantly cheaper. There are 99 991 GT3RSs on autotrader as of right now!!!

The .2 3RS has essentially the GT2RS suspension and aero which is much much more motorsport/stiffer/rigid than then .1RS.
The .1 3RS ran a 7:20 on the nurburgring and the .2 3RS ran a 6:56 with basically the same power. Most of that time made up was suspension and aero and WOW can you feel it if you drive them back to back.
DEFINITELY wait until at least January, pricing will be much much less than it is today. I would bet the bank on that

Just curious but why do people say the .1 RS feels more raw/fun to drive?

I have no idea tbh, Drive them both. One just feels like the suspension is made out of diamonds it's so stiff, the other feels like a very stiff sports car.
I have this theory that people just drive the older car thats been more used and worn in and think "raw". Same argument with the 2016 gt4 vs 718 gt4 and have no idea what they are talking about, older one is worse in every way imo.
Same with the 997 gt3 we had for 7 years....That car is soft AF compared to the 991.2 RS and feels like a noodle chassis relatively speaking and can't handle to save it's life. I don't know in what world a guy who actually tracks would call the 997 more "raw" then my 991,2 3rs I had, yet you'll hear it everytime lol
waiting for a rs purchase or not...it's all about alternatives
u have the gt2rs that's slightly above sticker at 350-420, the 992 gt3 at 50 above and the 992 RS at 450-500 with real money....sweet dreams getting a .2 RS below 200 by January lol
just buy and enjoy. a lot of cars to pick from for now but who knows how long it will stay that way

Subjective but, the .2 is more fun to drive as it's a little more fine tuned after coming from a .1... It's immediately noticeable that the shifts are quicker and so much more crisp. It just feels more precise. Do some feel the less precise is more raw, perhaps. That being said, the .1 is a blast and just as visceral (both had the same full Dundon System). In each instance—no matter what car is chosen—it will be a fun experience. In my opinion after driving both back to back on the same course, the .2 just felt a little (absolutely noticeable) better in steering and shifting. I'd compare it to looking at a brand new freshly washed GT3RS and a freshly washed and waxed RS. Both look insane from far and are extremely pleasing. But upon close exam while side by side the waxed car in a bit better. However, when not side by side and passing by who can tell? For me—if ceteris paribus—it's the .2 all day as I enjoy the noticeable evolution. That being said, it's probably not worth more than a 40-50k delta in price between the two—if it's even worth that...
My perspective is a bit different perhaps. These are ALL bucket list cars for me. I feel lucky and blessed to even be able to consider ANY of them. This opportunity is pretty new to me as I have toiled away over the last 15-20 years on a very different front—grinding through 16 years of loan free Ivy League tuition and living expenses for my two little humans. Far and away the most satisfying thing we parents do, right?
So my car budget (and most else) has always been very very thin as compared to most on these threads from what I can tell. So I was drawn to the .1 RS when I began searching because 1) it fit my budget (I still have one child finishing a medical residency in San Fran and cost of living there requires that we help him…a lot..which is fine) and 2) IT FIT MY BUDGET lol. My use case is pretty simple—spirited driving and something to buff and polish thereafter. As an engineer early in life, I do love the insightful technical discussions that others offer on the .1 RS, the .2 GT3, and the .2 RS. I have not furthered this discussion much with this, but rather wanted to affirm to someone in angst over the three models that with the right perspective, you will be THRILLED with any choice you make.
P.S. I do love the more limited or reserved aero bits on the .1–and that’s without regard to budget lol
