7MT is a true unicorn.

If you could get either PTS or Weissach on GT2RS... which would you pick and why?
PTS ... and it's not close. Far more exclusive and personal.

Yes. That is exactly what I said in my earlier post.

Why wouldn't their customers always shop nationwide for the lowest price and "courtesy" deliver their cars home? There could be rare exceptions for VIP clients who already do most of their business with the dealer, but would not make sense to make "courtesy delivery" a general policy. No idea how it works in practice, just some thoughts.
Because my local dealer didn't have any GT3s, that's why. Can't buy a car that doesn't exist. I approached that dealer to buy a GT3 and they didn't have any to sell me. So I bought one elsewhere.

If this is a South Bay dealer, I'd be interested to know as well. I'm buying out of State and have asked the selling dealer if this is possible. If so, I'm going to ask my local dealer if they'll do it. Alternatively, I've asked about LA PEC delivery.

PM sent. But they're not in the south bay. Have you tried Freemont? PEC delivery could be fun. Then you get to drive up Hwy 1 along the coast

Have not spoken to Fremont, but I don't have a relationship with them. I'm also in the process of moving down to Monterey and my local dealer will become Lithia, but I'm not sure they would assist given I have no relationship with them. First I need to confirm that my selling dealer will even agree to it. PEC would be the best.

My feeling is I would not buy a MT for the GT3. The PDK is so stellar and makes driving so much more fun and enjoyable. YMMV......

I'm going WP - unique to the car and it's not the fastest 911 without it. A 2RS with WP is the fastest - PTS doesn't help the car go faster. Will go PTS WP 3RS though since you don't have to pick.

If I only had the 2RS incoming (which could end up being the case as 3RS allocations aren't known yet) I would still go WP. I've owned several PTS cars and I think it's more hyped on the forum than the real life experience.

Even on a GT3, most buyers would want a PDK (it's why the 991.1 GT3 was so popular, and why so many here lament that it opened up the world of GT cars to all those supposed "poseurs" who cannot operate a clutch).

But for those GT3 buyers that want a MT, they will definitely pay a premium over a similarly equipped PDK car. But the pool of those GT3+MT buyers is much much smaller than the regular GT3 buying population.

Perhaps I missed something (obviously 7MTs don’t exist), but the 991.1 GT3 wasn’t really “popular”. Not with the PDK only option (reason I and many others did not buy), along with the FF engine issues. Hell, there were less 991.1 GT3s produced than 991.1 RS.

But how exactly is the GT3+MT buyer population is much smaller than PDK buyers? Last we saw, 53% of all 991.2 GT3s wer MT and 47% were PDK (for North America). So how is 53% the minority? I mean, if more than half the supply is MT, and still commands a higher premium (due to higher demand) than the alternative (PDK), then most buyers want MTs, not PDKs... Unless you’re referring to ROW, where it’s supposed to be 25% MT, 75% PDK...

I like the FS ad at $25k over telling everyone it will be gone in 24 hrs. Can’t wait to see all the bumps.
